Edward "Eddie" Morra[edit]

All Edward Morra quotes are voiceovers, except where noted otherwise.
  • Obviously, I miscalculated a few things. Why is it that the moment your life exceeds your wildest dreams, a knife appears at your back? Well, I'll tell you one thing: I will never let them touch me.
  • 00m51s
  • For a guy with a four-digit I.Q., I must have missed something. And I hadn't missed much.
  • 02m08s
  • In the end, how much worse could it get? [takes NZT-48 for the first time]
  • 10m49s
  • 12m06s (This quote comes from the Berean Study Bible version of John 9:25. It also appears in the song Amazing Grace: "I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.")
  • It was all bubbling up in my frontal lobes, mixing itself together into a sparkling cocktail of useful information.
  • 13m47s
  • I wasn't high, I wasn't wired; just clear. I knew what I needed to do and how to do it.
  • 15m11s
  • A tablet a day and what I could do with my day was limitless.
  • 26m24s
  • I suddenly knew everything. About everything.
  • 27m12s
  • My brain was just pouring this stuff out. Everything I had ever read, heard, seen was now organized and available.
  • 27m43s
  • All my fear, all my shyness, gone. But mere lounging wasn't enough. Only problem? If I wasn't moving forward, I felt like I was going to explode.
  • 28m16s
  • I don't have delusions of grandeur, I have an actual recipe for grandeur.
  • 38m42s
  • Time somebody shook up the free world and got things done.

From the trailer[edit]

  • How many of us ever know what it is to become the perfect versions of ourselves?

Vernon Gant[edit]

  • They've identified these receptors in the brain that activate specific circuits. And you know how they say that we can only access twenty percent of our brain? Well, what this does, it lets you access all of it.

Dialogue[edit]

Lindy: Are you still there?
Eddie Morra: Yeah, I'm here. What happened?
Lindy: I'm stuck; he'll find me!
Eddie Morra: Okay, stop talking. Don't move.
Lindy: He killed two guys!
Eddie Morra: What?
Lindy: He's gonna kill me, too.
Eddie Morra: No, no, no, no. No, no, no. Can he see you?
Lindy: No. Not yet. [whimpering] I don't know what to do.
Eddie Morra: Okay, I need you to go into the bag and take one of the pills.
Lindy: Why?
Eddie Morra: Because you'll know what to do. You'll take it and then you'll know.
Lindy: He's got a knife. Eddie, I can't think my way out of a knife.
Eddie Morra: Just listen to me: it'll come on in thirty seconds and you'll think your way out—that's what it does.

Edward Morra: That van's gonna rear-end that taxi.
Carl van Loon: What?
Edward Morra: The driver's distracted; he's texting; he's going thirty miles an hour; he has sixty feet to stop; he doesn't have room.
Carl van Loon: What van? [van rear-ends taxi]
Edward Morra: I see everything, Carl. I'm fifty moves ahead of you and everybody else. What makes you think I don't have a guy with a bead on you right now? How do you know you're gonna be alive this time next year?

Quotes about the film[edit]

  • I knew from the beginning it would be a wonderful life experience to go through what this guy goes through. The script was unbelievable; when I read it, I thought, "I can see myself in it."
