Shotgun
Appearance

A shotgun is a firearm that is usually designed to be fired from the shoulder, which uses the energy of a fixed shell to fire a number of small spherical pellets called shot, or a solid projectile called a slug. Shotguns come in a wide variety of sizes, ranging from 5.5 mm (.22 inch) bore up to 5 cm (2.0 in) bore, and in a range of firearm operating mechanisms, including breech loading, single-barreled, double or combination gun, pump-action, bolt-, and lever-action, revolver, semi-automatic, and even fully automatic variants.

[edit]- An old man in a thick, finely stitched old Gijduvon robe, with the hem tucked into his belt, was reloading a multyk, an old gun with wooden bipod that rested on the ground when fired.
- - Salam alaykum! - Peace be upon you! - Vedin greeted him. - Where were you shooting?
- - As-salamu alaykum! - And peace be upon you! - the old man answered, looking at Vedin with curiosity. - Chukars...
- Vedin saw a partridge nearby in the grass. The old man was in no hurry to pick it up. Watching the speed and skill with which the hunter reloaded his weapon, Vedin realized for the first time that this old gun had actually been used in war.
- Reloading it was not at all easy. To do this, you had to pour some gunpowder from the horn powder flask hanging on your belt into a tin thimble as a measure. Pour the gunpowder into the barrel of a vertically placed gun. Tear a tuft of cotton wool from the hem of your robe and ram it into the barrel with a wooden ramrod, thick as a cane. Take a round lead bullet from a leather bag, also hanging from your belt, tear off a small piece from the rag hanging on your belt, spit on the rag, wrap it around the bullet and ram it into the barrel with the ramrod. Shake the cap out of the medicine bottle and put it on the short fire tube. And only then cock the hammer with both hands... And yet all this did not take even a minute.

- Crude and heavy butt was obviously made much later than the barrel. But the barrel was such that you didn’t want to let go of the gun. It was made of excellent steel, with gold inlay in Arabic, stylized ligature. Judging by its appearance, it was forged in Sulaymaniyah, the capital of the Kurds in Iraq, famous in the old days for its guns.

- — Why don’t you buy yourself a new gun?
- — I’m used to it, — the hunter answered. — It’s a good gun. Your gun needs cartridges, but mine just loads.
- — Listen, — Vedin suggested, — let’s trade…
- He took his expensive Izhevsk hammerless 16-gauge shotgun off his shoulder and handed it to the old man.
- The old man carefully examined Vedin’s gun.
- — Are you going to hand over my multyk to a house where old things are kept?
- — No, I just like old weapons myself.
- — Well, then let’s trade.

[edit]- Speaking about a double-barreled shotgun. Or rather, a gun with two barrels. This is not a single-barreled shotgun. No, no, no. This is a gun that has twice as many barrels as a regular single-barreled firearm. Two barrels. Two. First comes the first barrel, then the second barrel. Everything else is the same. Gunpowder, cartridges, butt. That's true. That's true... But the barrels... What's there to say? You have to see it! Ask any passerby: "How many barrels does a double-barreled shotgun have? One or two?" "Two," the passerby will answer and walk away twice as fast.

[edit]- A hunting gun, like any firearm, is a dangerous thing, and you need to tread carefully around it.
- But the most dangerous kind of shotgun is an unloaded one.
- "It's okay, take it, take it. It's not loaded."
- In fact, it is with an unloaded gun that hunters most often kill and injure themselves and their mates.
- Keep that in your mind.

- What manufacturer, what brand of shotgun is the best?
- If any of the newbie hunters wanted to buy a gun, what brand would you recommend?
- The best gun is yours one. All the rest are a garbage. That's in your opinion.
- But in the opinion of your fellow hunters, your gun will also be classified as a garbage.
- Of course, it hurts you, but there's nothing you can do: that's the law.
- So, buy a gun from any manufacturer. For you, it will be the best and will shoot like nobody has never seen or heard.
