I would prefer Wikiquote not to be hosting quotes from the manifesto of a mass murderer. —This unsigned comment is by Denny (talk • contribs) .
- While it is quite apparent that the initial creator of this page sought to glorify the white supremacist, Islamophobic and xenophobic terrorism of the murderer, a subsequent editor moved the page from one designed simply to publicize his deranged ideas to one with broader reference to the tragedy, you removed the text of his manifesto, and asked the page be deleted, and I declined that request, removed the speedy tag and added the rebukes of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern against the atrocities. From this it can perhaps grow with other commentaries, and hopefully the character of the page will primarily reflect much of the best in humanity in responses to some of the worst forms of depravity. ~ ♞☤☮♌Kalki·†·⚓⊙☳☶⚡ 23:11, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
I removed sections devoted specifically to the murderer's assertions[edit]
Removing much of the material, I retained three of the quotes of the expressed motives and delusions of the confessed murderer, but removed the effort to maintain entire sections on the page specifically devoted to his bigoted, belligerent and racist ravings.
I certainly do not believe we should in any way seek to treat moral abominations of depravity like this mass murderer AS IF there were "blame on both sides" for the brutal massacre of individuals praying in their mosques, and "very fine people on both sides" of the issue of mass murder with the express aim of promoting xenophobia, genocide, and racial or ethnic wars within nations worldwide.
I also believe that his foul, false and deluded genocidal screed attempting to justify his murderous aims and make them seem reasonable and desirable to those most susceptible to bigotry is certainly not worthy of anything close to "equal coverage" on this page about the murders. I can accept that there might eventually be a page for this pathetically deluded, publicity seeking and morally warped individual on Wikipedia, but as one of his primary motives in committing these murders was clearly to publicize his ideas, I do not believe we should devote a page nor even a major section of a page to publicizing many details of them, at least until such time as Wikipedians accept that there is sufficient reason to maintain a page for him or for them at Wikipedia. ~ ♞☤☮♌Kalki·†·⚓⊙☳☶⚡ 12:14, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
Removal Of Comments By Tarrant[edit]
I have once again removed the comments written by the suspect in his manifesto. This information encourages terrorism and should not be noted in history. Prime Minister Ardern stated that it is now deemed as objectionable material and that anyone caught distributing or collecting this information can be prosecuted (And 1x person already has been).
It is extremely distasteful and if needed, I will bring in higher levels of Wikipedia Arbitration.

- Do it User:Dunners 1080. First of all, this is not Wikipedia, so Wikipedia Arbitration can't do anything here. Secondly, Jacinda Ardern did not personally ban this manifesto, the Chief Censors office did. Thirdly, Wikimedia has an extremely strong stance in favor of free speech and will refuse to comply with non-American court orders to remove content.
- The reasons why it is important to include the shooter's quotes is that no matter how heinous his views may be, free speech can only exists when we refuse to compromise on it. A compromise on freedom is not a sort of "half-freedom", it's a complete lack of freedom at all. Picking and choosing which viewpoints are "acceptable" will eventually turn every Wikiquote discussion into a debate not whether on a quote is relevant, but whether it's something people agree with.
