The above article lacks notability. There are hundreds of halachic concepts discussed in the Talmud, and not all of them are notable from a secular perspective. Additionally, many translations of the original Aramaic exist, so it is difficult to place those quotes as the definitive translation. Artscroll, for example, tends to use a technical translation that does not stay true to the literal meaning. This last problem could be resolved by adding the original Aramaic phrase above the English translation (which I suggest should be done), but as a whole, I don’t think the article is noteworthy.   • I have added this page since it is (or will be) a significant list of quotes concerning a significant and contested area of the Jewish world. The quotes are all from significant rabbis across generations. I am happy to leave the message up until I have made a more complete article, so that people can make a more complete judgement call.
