Number of quotes[edit]

Although this page now contains 16 quotes (above the normal limit of 9 for a film of 107 minutes), I believe this film is a classic that deserves consideration under the exceptions clause of the quote limit (see WQ:LOQ#Exceptions). Per Wikipedia:

"Widely regarded as a classic, it is often cited as a paradigmatic film noir and as having set the standard for the films that followed in that genre. Deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the U.S. Library of Congress in 1992, Double Indemnity was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry. In 1998, it was ranked #38 on the American Film Institute's list of the 100 best American films of the 20th century, and in 2007 it was 29th on their 10th Anniversary list."

As such, I believe it deserves an exception to the limit. ~ UDScott (talk) 02:46, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

  • Support exception. As someone who is continually appalled by the attention lavished on mediocre and even awful films here, let me say that, in my not so humble opinion, this is what Wikiquote is for. I heartily endorse making an exception under WQ:LOQ, based on this being a landmark of cultural heritage that contains a large amount of significantly quotable material. ~ Ningauble (talk) 18:08, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
