I agree with Vilho that "Singer-songwriter" tells that she's a singer and songwriter. We don't need unnecessary categories.

Why is there no discussion about this on the talkpage?

There was discussion on Village pump. We must have the definition who is a singer-songwriter - and it's not useful to discuss on every talk page of the artists. "Singer-songwriters are musicians who write, compose, and perform their own musical material, including lyrics and melodies" (en-Wikipedia). This is simple and clear, I think. The one who wants to change it should do it at en-Wikipedia. Every category we have is based on en-Wikipedia - and that's good. And does it make sense to check all singer-songwriters there, make corrections there and after that here? It's like "American politicians", for example: the U.S.A. is only 1/4 of America, but changing "American" to "...from the United States" is impossible.
