Adding categories to Shirly Temple article[edit]

Hi Vilho-Veli

I noticed you added several categories to the page on Shirley Temple and was wondering where you found the information. For example how do you know she was a methodist? Cheers, Ottawahitech (talk) 02:52, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ottawahitech!
Found the information from en-Wikipedia's categories.--Vilho-Veli (talk) 13:37, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Wouldn't it be better to add this info to wikiquote before adding the cat? What happens if someone changes the information on wikipedia? Just wondering. Ottawahitech (talk) 00:06, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we'll just update - like when someone dies.--Vilho-Veli (talk) 00:05, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again, I am continuing to see categories added that may or may not be appropriate. I find it is very time consuming to try and check what the enwiki article says about it. As an example, take Thierry Baudet who is included in category:Dutch academics. I tried finding out why this politician is considered an academic, but it is too time consuming. What is your opinion?
Just curious. Cheers, Ottawahitech (talk) 22:15, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Leiden university faculty. By the way, English Wikipedia has a jungle of categories (and many missing ones). I'm capable to add there only
 birth years and places.--Vilho-Veli (talk) 22:31, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Using hotcat[edit]

Hi Vilho-Veli,

I noticed that you add a lot of categories to wikiquote articles, good work!

Just wondering if you have considered using Hotcat? I myself find this tool, that you can add to your preferences(gadgets), very useful.

Cheers, Ottawahitech (talk) 16:46, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ottawahitech and many thanks! How can I add it? Are you from Canada?--Vilho-Veli (talk) 16:52, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea. It is explained here [1] --დამოკიდებულება (talk) 17:07, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Fine! Must try.--Vilho-Veli (talk) 17:11, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Are you joking?--Vilho-Veli (talk) 22:26, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I am also curious @DawgDeputy:. What is this about? Ottawahitech (talk) 01:11, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You adding an image. Not everything is allowed on WikiQuote. WQ doesn't need everything, but we're interested in quotes. I'm just stupid, that's all. DawgDeputy (talk) 21:48, October 27, 2020 (EST)
Hi anon. What image was added? Ottawahitech (talk) 16:47, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
These warnings were posted by IP address (previous, latest) using the signatures of others.--Saroj Uprety (talk) 04:51, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The image is Sushruta. As long as Wikipedia has it we'll keep the image.--Vilho-Veli (talk) 17:15, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I am new on Wikiquotes and I need help navigating through the platform. I need someone to teach me a few things. Do you think you can help? I am an experienced Wikipedia editor and I am confident i learn pretty fast.

P.S I am think of a online meeting on Zoom or Google meet. I just need to know the basics e.g notability. Prithee P (talk) 10:41, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
