[edit]I support user Collingwood's suggestion to merge Food and drink in Pan Tadeusz into this article.[1] I believe it sets a bad precedent to fork multiple articles on a single literary work. ~ Ningauble (talk) 15:30, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- Could you explain why this would be bad? Besides, the precedent has already been set. We have, for example, several theme pages about the Qur'an: Qur'an on Christianity, Qur'an on infidels, Quran on justice, and Quran on peace. We've also got The Bible and a theme page, Biblical names. Similarly, we have theme pages about a single author: William Shakespeare quotes about death, William Shakespeare quotes about love, and William Shakespeare quotes about war. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Kpalion (talk) 16:09, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- The examples you cite, the Bible, the Qur'an, and the corpus of Shakespeare, are very exceptional cases that ought not be taken as general precedent. Each is a massive corpus, each is among the most widely quoted bodies of work in world civilization, and each has been extensively indexed in secondary sources. I regard them as exceptions to the rule, with compelling reasons for making exceptions. I believe it would be a mistake to create precedent for such things as "Food and drink in Through the Looking-Glass", "Clothing and attire in A Tale of Two Cities", or "Cities and municipalities in Candide", not to mention what would happen if such cross-categorization were applied to popular genre titles and TV shows. ~ Ningauble (talk) 17:12, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
