[edit]Unsourced quote removed from page : "I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it." - this is obviously a variant of a modern expression, and is used with slight variants by many authors. Nothing resembling it is likely to be found in the ancient records of Scipio's assertions. ~ Kalki (talk · contributions) 17:30, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Literal translation of “patria”
[edit]Hello, I made a slight adjustment to the quote for a more literal and exact translation. “Patria” literally translates to “fatherland” in Latin. This is not disputed, see the translation here for example: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/patria 47.177.35.159 18:14, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you but the other translation ("thankless country") is from Familiar Short Sayings of Great Men (1887), p. 477. We go by reliable sources on Wikiquote, just like Wikipedia does. IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 13:16, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
