Thaddeus Stevens Society

[edit]

Thaddeus Stevens is one of the most underappreciated politicians in American history. He was a true believer in the equality of man and helped change this country for the better. If you would like to help promote his memory, contact the Thaddeus Stevens Society at contact@thaddeusstevenssociety.com. One of Steven's greatest quotes was his epitaph which said:

"I repose in this quiet and secluded spot not from any natural preference for solitude, but finding other cemeteries limited as to race by charter rules, I chosen this that I might illustrate in my death the principles which I advocated through a long life: EQUALITY OF MAN BEFORE HIS CREATOR." 4.23.231.41 (talk) 15:08, 19 February 2006‎ (UTC)Reply
