This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the Thoughtlessness page.

On the proposed deletion of this redirect — I agree the terms thoughtless and thoughtlessness are not usually indicating mere ignorance, but lack of concern and consideration, which always involve forms of ignorance, and usually some forms of confusion, and thought the redirect was proper to what was the closest term available with a page for the word or ranges of relevant ideas. I might create a page for quotes more directly related to thoughtlessness within a few days, but don’t have time to do that right now. So it goes Blessings. ~ Kalki·· 13:44, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

I suppose one could take the position, philosophically, that all vices and human failings are due at root to ignorance. Many would disagree. Simple ignorance is widely considered an innocent condition if it is not willful or negligent, while thoughtlessness is generally considered a culpable failure. Some notable quotations on the latter condition would be a welcome addition to Wikiquote. ~ Ningauble (talk) 14:32, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
I would assert that ignorance is actually involved in all forms of human existence, but it can clearly be perceived as a definitely prominent and apparently dominant factor in many forms of what are commonly called "thoughtlessness" or thoughtless condemnation, punishment and destruction. Considering the potential importance of such a page, after having encountered many distressing instances of smug complacency or indifference and "culpable failures" of extreme thoughtlessness in the sense of non-innocent and willful forms of derision and destruction of important human potentials (or even rather simple presentations of diverse ranges of ideas), among those who are quite content and even eager to denigrate and destroy indications of many, I had decided to alter my plans, and delay leaving an hour or so, to take the time to create the page I had mentioned I would probably try to initiate within a few days.
It has now been a bit over two hours that I've delayed, and amidst many other activities and preparations to leave, accepting that I probably won't be able to do a few of the things I had intended to do today, I gathered up a few quotes which are now on the page, and I have also already collected a few more quotes, but don’t have time to adequately source them right now, and must be leaving and attending to many other things for at least a few hours. I might add a few more quotes here within a few days, but remain very busy with many projects and tasks. ~ Kalki·· 16:19, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
