[edit]- For evil to take place, the acts of a few people are not sufficient; the great majority also has to remain indifferent. That is something of which we are all quite capable.
- This was long in the section for Hope and Memory: Reflections on the Twentieth Century (2003). I had sourced all the other statements in that section to specific pages, but that particular one has not been found within that work, and seems to have been added improperly to the section by 85.167.165.3 (talk · contributions). It was recently removed from the page, and there has been no reliable evidence found that it is even a paraphrase of a statement of Todorov, let alone a direct quote. It has so little presence on the internet that I have placed it here, and feel it does not even merit posting to a "Disputed" section. ~ ♞☤☮♌︎Kalki·⚚⚓︎⊙☳☶⚡ 10:40, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
