This topic is not getting justice on wmf sites[edit]

This internet company founded in 1994 (a mere 26 years ago) that has had a huge impact on millions of people (even those who do not know it) is disappearing at an alarming rate. This is where social networking started, this is where free email started, this is how we found out what the stock market is doing, got our daily news, had our questions answered....

And all we have here is a pitiful article with a few quotes, with refs that have dead urls (or worse), people we have never heard of before, or have already forgotten.

Is this what will happen to Wikipedia in another 6 years? Is this what progress is doing to our archeological ability? Ottawahitech (talk) 18:50, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The wikipedia page on w:Yahoo! Groups has had over 16,000 pageviews in the October, 2020. The historical content of Yahooǃ Groups will be removed from the internet on December 15, 2020, but the media has shown no interest in it. Ottawahitech (talk) 00:16, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
