On Breeding the Spawn: "We wanted to touch on the bases of the heavy parts, the technical, the guitar solos, the dark melodies, the upper melodies -- making a song have a beginning, middle, and an end, and a story. [...] We didn't wanna make something brutally aggressive that was just sterile."[2]
