Dialogue
[edit]- Private: [first lines of the film; sees Ted sad] He looks so sad.
- Skipper: Rico, l want that tree up to muster.
- Kowalski: Yule log engaged.
- Skipper: That's an order, mister. All right, boys! Stand by for eggnog!
- Kowalski: Aye aye, Skipper!
- Rico: EGGNOG!
- Skipper: Private?
- Private: I'll pass, thank you.
- Skipper and Kowalski: [in unison] Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!
- Skipper: Well done, Rico! This guy can really hold his nog.
- Skipper: 21:10 hours, boys! Engage cranberries! [Rico is playing the "Knife game" at the table] Rico! Not at the table. [noticing a problem] Hold on a second! Something's missing!
- Kowalski: Cranberries: check! Eggnog: check!
- Skipper: Give me a headcount.
- Kowalski: [grabs abacus] We have three heads, sir!
- Skipper: Where's the private?!
- Kowalski: Unknown, sir! It would appear that he's [grabs milk carton] missing!
- [Kowalski shows milk carton with a big 'missing' advert for the private]
- Skipper: Missing? Hoover Dam! Wait, there he is. He just went to bed. [pulls off sheets, revealing a bowling pin underneath] What the...?! [slapping the pin] What have you done with Private?! Talk, Mister!
- Kowalski: Skipper! Over here!
- Skipper: [to pin] I'll deal with you later. [slaps the pin again]
- Kowalski: Oh, no. He must be out there all by himself.
- Skipper: He's one of us, men. You all know the Penguin Credo.
- Kowalski: Never bathe in hot oil and Bisquick?
- Skipper: [facepalms] No! [Rico speaks Japanese gibberish] No, that's the Walrus Credo! It's "Never swim alone." Private's out there all by himself, and we never leave one of our own.
- Kowalski and Rico: Oh, yeah.
- Skipper: Now let's go.
- Private: Oh, that's perfect! Just the thing for a sad polar bear.
- Skipper: Kowalski, analysis.
- Kowalski: Adrenaline, sweat and sardines. These tracks are fresh, sir.
- Skipper: He's close. I can feel it.
- Nana: What kind of cut-rate junk is this? It's lousy workmanship it's what it is.
- Kowalski: Uh-oh. We may have a problem.
- Nana: Everywhere I look, junk. These are no good at all! Junk!
- Skipper: We need to get closer. 10:00, men. Blend! Blend! Blend!
- Skipper: He's in trouble.
- Rico: [starts to light a stick of dynamite] Kaboom!
- Skipper: Lay her down, soldier. We're in observation mode.
- Skipper: GRAND COULEE DAM! Private's been captured!
- Nana: Taxi!
- Skipper: [after Nana rides off in a taxi with Private] Not on my watch, bluehair! Kowalski!
- Skipper: [sees a mail chute] What comes down must go up.
- Kowalski: Skipper! [brings in a hoover]
- Skipper: Okay, boys. Commence Operation Special Delivery.
- [the penguins put stamps on themselves and use the hoover, in reverse, to whizz up the chute]
- Skipper: Shitake mushrooms! No more Mr Cute and Cuddly!
- Rico: Kaboom, kaboom, kaboom!
- Skipper: Rico! Enough with the dynamite, already.
- Rico: [sighs disappointedly] Aaah.
- Skipper: [after he and the others smash through a window to save Private] Santa Claus has come to town!
- TV Announcer: [Private flies across the room] Ryan takes the snap! [Private flies into a table covered in food] Oooooh! What a hit! Ryan is down!
- Skipper: [sees Private is stuck on a turkey] Holy butterball!
- Rico: [pulls out a stick of dynamite and a match] Kaboom?
- Skipper: Yes, Rico. Kaboom.
- [Rico blows up the area surrounding the apartment door, causing the door itself to fall from the lack of support and giving the Penguins an escape route]
- Skipper: Come on, boys.
- Private: Thanks for rescuing me, Skipper.
- Skipper: Think nothing of it, young Private. It's the least we could do. You remember the penguin credo.
- Private: What does deep-frying in Bisquick have to do with any of this?
- Skipper: Not that one, the other one! "Never swim alone". Alone! On Christmas! Don't you get it? Come on people, do I have to explain this to everybody? [Rico nods]
- Zoo Animals: [singing] ♪Jingle bells, monkey smells, Melman laid an egg! Marty thinks that Alex stinks and the camels say, "Oy vey!"♪
