New additions[edit]

Thank you for your new additions, but please refrain from just doing a copy-and-paste from other quote websites. This represents a copyright violation. Please take the time to learn our formatting and create pages using it. Take a look at how I fixed your Felix Frankfurter and Claude McKay pages or look at the Wikiquote:Templates/People. Thanks! ~ UDScott 15:22, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please consider what's happening to your articles[edit]

I appreciate your zeal in trying to add new pages to Wikiquote. However, please be aware that some of your practices are counter-productive. Right now, six of your pages have been nominated for deletion. The practices to which I refer are:

  • violating "presentation copyright" by cutting and pasting from other web pages without modification
  • providing pages consisting of nothing but a single unsourced quotation
  • providing pages whose quotations are not in English (and not translated)

You might want to view the discussions on these pages for more information. --Ubiquity 15:34, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rodney Landi[edit]

I have just speedy-deleted your article on Rodney Landi as an unremarkable subject, since you failed to accurately identify the subject (he is not an author), nor did you provide any reliable sourced quotes. I also note that you appear to have merely copied the first quote from the ThinkExist "Rodney Landi quotes" page, based on the mix of variable punctuation and your past history.

Please stop creating new articles with minimalist copy-and-pastes from other, unreliable quote websites. These not only fail to identify the subject, but also cause potential copyright violations. All you end up doing is causing additional work for editors who try to prevent these problems.

You can easily avoid this problem simply by taking a few moments to properly identify your subject and provide links to Wikipedia articles to establish their notability. It would also be quite helpful if you could find reliable sources for these quotes instead of merely pulling them from error-prone quote websites. (One very useful source is Google Book Search; let me know if you'd like details on how best to use it for finding quotes.) Thank you for your cooperation. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 16:39, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
