Quotations removed without discussion

Management is encouraged to consider that in April/May of this year, "HouseOfChange"  quickly removed hundreds of properly sourced quotations from notable people, which he did not approve of. It seems that HouseofChange has ignored the advice of BD2412 given on 26 April (text below) where he advised him to move the removed quotes to the discussion pages for the good of this project.

Here are some of the pages where the censored quotes have not yet been placed on the discussion pages, along with the approx. # of censored bytes:

Allegation; removed ~2847 bytes,

Brainwashing ~17,000+ bytes,

Cover-up - ~18,000 bytes,

Corruption - ~16,884 bytes,

Decadence-  ~25,000 bytes,

Deception - ~5,000 bytes,

Hegemony ~6,000,

International Monetary Fund - ~35,000 bytes,

Mafia state ~27,000+ bytes,

Misinformation - ~9,000 bytes,

Nuclear weapons  - ~19,000+ bytes,

Ukraine -40,000 bytes,

Reality-  ~27,000 bbytes,

(please note, this is not a complete list - these were noted during a brief search)

BD2412 [to houseofchange]:... you are being quite aggressive in removing quotes that could arguably be included somewhere. I would suggest that rather than merely deleting them, you should move them to the respective talk pages of the pages you are working on (unless they are clearly by speakers with no plausible claim to notability). Some of them, readers might decide to keep, perhaps trimmed to a degree. Some of them might fit well into other pages. BD2412 T 07:14, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

HouseOfChange" [reply]  That is a great idea! Thanks @BD2412: for the suggestion! It will preserve the material for other editors to give an opinion while making the article itself more readable/useful to readers... HouseOfChange (talk) 01:11, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

The actions of HouseOfChange  suggest that he may be not at all interested in helping educate the public with illuminating & thought provoking quotations from notable people, but working to intentionally dumb the people down by censoring what some would view as "inconvenient truths". Some would say that while he was boldly claiming to be battling POV pushing, he himself was POV pushing on a grand scale. We encourage WQ's honorable bureaucrats to encourage HouseofChange to follow the advice of BD2412 and that he (and one or two admins who egged him on) to be watched very carefully.  Obviously, there are many these days who tend to say one thing while doing something else, the air in the west seems to be  more full of lies than ever before. Thank you. 47.36.43.90 00:13, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A guy who's probably named Francis Whicker has been running roughshod on Toy Story and Cars articles these past few months, bloating the articles way past acceptable LOQ limits and in the case of Toy Story 2, has been reverted by several editors as the work of multiple socks. I think harsher action has to be taken because he's not getting it and was even inspired to keep bloating articles because of somebody else's pushback against copyright cleanup. Mothusi Sekhomba and articles with copyright violations

Mothusi has been creating a number of articles recently with concerns of non-notability. I was working through them to see which appeared notable, but in the process have discovered articles are being created with copy violations which is a bigger problem albeit fixable. Mothusi does not seem to be responding on the talk page but has continued to create Wikiquote aricles, for example Nonny Penelope Wright at 06:40 UTC today after a copyright violation concerns had been raised at 00:53 and after I raised Wikiquote:Votes for deletion/Dr. Tendani Gaolathe, medical practitioner at 06:20, albeit talk page notification was at 06:42. Mothusi appears to be incapable or making no attempt to engage but this may be a language problem. I'm not that familiar with Wikiquote, just passing through really, and to add to it I'm indep blocked on the English Wikipedia. But I think I need to hand over to others to handle this situation. I've merged one content fork and, rightly or wrongly, got a handful of VFD and CSD out on Mothusi's articles. Anyway please take a look, I'm intending to step back. Thankyou. -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 09:07, 19 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Djm,
I have noted all the concerns and I have being working on improving my mistakes. Actually I have got a challenge because I'm using my mobile phone and most of the features are not easily accessible via a miblile device besides that I'm actually learning how to use Wikipedia and getting familiar with it. Using virtual editor also gives me some challenges because most of the when I type information into wikiquote sections it mostly just disappears which really humiliate and discourage sometimes.
But I'm committed to making improvements regardlessly.

Francis Whicker socks and Toy Story articles

A guy who I presume is named Francis Whicker has been creating multiple socks to just render certain Pixar articles like Toy Story and Toy Story 2 bloated for copyright violations. AWB request

I would like to request AWB permissions to be granted to my "Bigdelboy" account which is an alt. account of User:Djm-leighpark which I believe requires enrolment on Wikiquote:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage. My preference is for this additional account is to make an easier distinction to edits made by this tool compared to "regular" editing, and which may help if a batch goes askew and requires reversion. Some admins are aware and any admin granting the privilege needs to be aware I am indef blocked on the English Wikipedia which is a valid reason for refusing the grant and I respect that. Bigdelboy has used this tool on the English Wikipedia, and I recall the last attempt had a mixed result (ultimately worked but a fair bit of manual intervention). The use case I have immediate need for here is identify #SheSaid candidates on the table at User:Djm-leighpark/XY and perform a "minor" update to add a SheSaid comment on the comment line. I suspect there's a case of maybe 30 or so articles on that list needing such tagging and individual manual tagging is simply leading to errors and I'd prefer to be concentrating on avoiding a gender misidentification errors. I'd probably work a batch of 2 or 3 first before going to batches of 10. I'm reasonably proficient with regular expressions (on a good day). Thankyou. -- Bigdelboy (talk) 00:45, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A block on en.wp doesn't matter much to me here, but it would be good to know if the block was related to something like hi-rate edits or somesuch. I am also a little cautious as both this account and your main account have pretty recent edits here (yes, your main account has a few edits from years ago, but basically, all your editing is from the past few weeks). I'm willing to give temporary AWB access if at least one other admin thinks it's a good idea. —Justin (koavf)TCM 00:52, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thankyou for consideration: The Indef block was initiated from the ANI thread: w:Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive1096#User:Djm-leighpark bullying. Block logs at :[3], [4], [5], & [6] (Deirge not physically blocked but I usually IP blocked. I regularly inspected source on enWP which will trigger though IP blocks). -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 11:27, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Per [7] it may be seen my first visit to enWQ was in 2018 when an article was deleted. On enquiring why I seemed to be rebuffed and my article deleted so it is hardly surprising I was not inclined to risk wasting my time here again. I did do some work on "god works in moments" related quotes following discussions with a spiritual advisor on the park in 2019 and that seems to have stuck: Special:Diff/2694182 & Special:Diff/2694192. Since my indef block I'm been active mainly on ::Commons & :Wikidata and more recently :Simple, by alt. Deirge active on :ga, :commons & wikidata. On Wikidata the primary focus has been loading book editions that can be accessible (free of by borrow) online and leveraged as sources for articles. My flickr stream operates under the Deirge [8] monicker and sometimes interacts with with Wikipedia activity: for example the research and contributions for [9] was the seed for the [:William Francis Ainsworth] article her and the online accessible d:Q115393051 which can be referenced by "Cite Q" on some Wikis. More recent activity here was after I created a quote for the Charlotte Stoker article I had created on :ga & :Simple and happened to notice indicators
  • The Bigdelboy account is intended for bulk work and on enWQ some javascript-type tooling attempts which may or may probably not come to fruition, possibly the latter. The approach is practice as why Bigdelboy holds the AWB priv there ... (although in that case Bigdelboy was involved in a project where thousands on tens of thousands or page were potentially in focus). I'm not expecting to see batches of that size here. (NB: I know the unintended accidental use of Bigdelboy rather than Djm-leighpark at Special:Diff/3201273 + 1 minor was a mistake but overall doing a self-revert by Bigdelboy & reapply by Djm-leighpark would have been as problematic as leaving it alone. -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 11:27, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you don't give Bigdelboy the privilege its not the end of the world. There's no guarantee it will be used and for this purpose I could give a list of articles to be tagged to an existing authorised AWB user to run it on their rubbish computer. And the tagging could simply wait until 2023. Utlimately curating new article as they arrive more important. And I am unlikely to remain active on enWikiquote permanently. Thankyou. -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 11:27, 29 November 2022 (UTC) (Bigdelboy)[reply]

Please be aware the priority for this request has now diminished. I have a list currently for October needing shesaid comments and I'll either do this myself or pass to a specific AWB user to complete. I'll leave the request in place for the privs to Bigdelboy in case another use-case for AWB here comes up. Thankyou. -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 07:18, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For information I have set up an additional alt account user for myself for pure bot work: DeirgeBot, which primarily will work on Wikidata via PWB. Thankyou. -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 13:21, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Since I made this request over 2 weeks ago there's been no progress on getting some of the SheSaid comment tagging done. I really could do with access to this tool. Espcially given the large rate of increase of new articles in the past fortnight. There's a possibly I'll be linking Wikidata items to Wikiquote articles at scale (well small batches of 25 where safe to do so) soon via Quickstatements so AWB here which is easily trackable shouldn't be too big a problem. thanks. -- 01:23, 15 December 2022 (UTC)

Prithee P was also involved in speedy nominations. All had the the nonspecific vaguewave reasoning: this article does not comply with Wikiquote's standard. Not really helpful to anyone if there was a problem. And I'm fairly sure there was no attempt to contact the contributor. I've seen what I regard as a great and productive English Wikipedia sysop (albeit a little short on the communication) goaded into being desysoped by him actioning iappropriately speedied deletion nominations.
