I think you may be right with most of these. There are likely to be some people that fit both the specific discipline category and that of academics, but not all members of the disciplines do. I believe there may be one exception in your list - that of mathematicians. I believe they do still fit the category of academics. ~ UDScott (talk) 00:48, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
What about Ferdinand Foch, for example? He was a member of the Académie Française.--Ivalon Olavi (talk) 00:56, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@UDScott, Ivalon Olavi: Thanks for sharing your views.
As far as mathematicians are concerned, many work for companies such as Google etc Ottawahitech (talk)
Yes, you may be right on that one too - it does appear that many mathematicians these days are opting for private sector careers, including consulting and tech companies. I would support removing the Academics category from these categories as you've listed them, but if specific individuals fit the criteria of both the specific field and that of academics, both categories could still be applied to the individuals' pages. ~ UDScott (talk) 17:41, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
