There is a difference between people by nationality and people by country[edit]

These terms should be be used interchangeably:

  • People by country
  • People by nationality

Nationality usually implies citizenship status (at least in modern times). For example there are many Americans living in Canada who are not Canadian citizens, and vice versa. Am I making sense? Ottawahitech (talk) 20:58, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You are making sense! Actually Canadians are Americans, too - aren't they? It may be hard to find out the citizenships. The birth country might be the criteria number one and then where the person has lived most of her/his life (like immigrants). Comments please!--Vilho-Veli (talk) 21:35, 9 October 2020 (UTC) - Perhaps the practice used with U.S. states would be useful: where somebody was born plus if the person grew up elsewhere or represents another state in Senate, for example - then all these should be mentioned.--Vilho-Veli (talk) 21:54, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
