"Zambian politics too dirty for women Namugala" (2010)

"Zambian politics too dirty for women - Namugala" by Maravi blog. Retrieved 2023-11-7.

  • If women are not bringing themselves out it’s very difficult for any organisation to go out looking for them.
  • So even the media when you cover women you tend to bring out more of the negative about women than the positive. And when you are covering men it’s like men have a right to be leaders.
  • The game as it is played is perceived to be a bit too rough for some women. And of course we don’t say that women must not allow themselves to be tested as leaders.
  • Women find it difficult to go out there and swim with all the good, bad, ugly. So they are more reserved. They are more of a gender that wants to be in a more safer place than the politics.

"Namugala admonishes Remember for making unverified claims in the House"

"Namugala admonishes Remember for making unverified claims in the House" by Natasha Sakala in Diggers (2019-12-12)

  • The committee noted that Mr Mutale was a first offender and decided to exercise leniency. Accordingly, the committee recommended that he be admonished. Honorable members, the Speaker applied his mind to this matter and endorsed the committee’s recommendation that he should be admonished. I now proceed to admonish you. Mr R Mutale as recommended by the committee on privileges, absenses and support services, the House is extremely displeased with your conduct of making an allegation which you failed to substantiate against a fellow member of parliament on the flier if the house. Your statement had the potential to tarnish the reputation of Dr S. Musokotwane amongst his peers and the public at large.
  • In addition, you are expected to know that the information which you bring to the house must be factual and verifiable. I trust that you will reflect seriously on your conduct and in future desist from conduct unbefitting of a member of this August House.
  • It was unbefitting of Mutale to bring unverified information on the floor of the House, before admonishing him.
