Borders of Africa?

[edit]

This is what the arrticle says:

It is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, both the Suez Canal and the Red Sea along the Sinai Peninsula to the northeast, the Indian Ocean to the southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The continent includes Madagascar and various archipelagoes

I am particularly having trouble with this: the Suez Canal and the Red Sea along the Sinai Peninsula to the northeast

I changed it to match what is on Wikipedia - it is a bit more general and I think more accurate. ~ UDScott (talk) 19:50, 15 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Why make changes that do not change anything?

[edit]

I often see individuals making edits that do not change the article (I think?) Example. Just wondering what the purpose is of this type of edit is, anyone? Thanks in advance, Ottawahitech (talk) 14:57, 5 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ottawahitech -- that's a "test edit", probably by someone who is editing for the first time. This was their first edit; then they saw what they had done, i.e. the string of random typing worked, and they (considerately) removed it in their next edit.
