Is this page necessary?[edit]

I'm not sure I see the point of this page - I believe the lone quote is more properly placed on a page about Economics. A page for this newspaper should only contain quotes about that newspaper, not quotes that appeared in that newspaper. ~ UDScott (talk) 13:52, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree, why editorial pieces made by notable outlets shouldn't be quoted? We already have quotes made by other outlets like the The Times and The Sun (United Kingdom). Rupert Loup 22:49, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
I would maintain that those other pages are not needed either. To me such pages should only exist for quotes about the newspaper in question, not just quotes that appeared in them. If we continue this way, we could theoretically have tons of pages like them for every major media outlet. I don't see the point - most users that are looking for a quote on a topic are not likely to look for them based on where they appeared, but rather on a page for that topic. ~ UDScott (talk) 12:46, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, after thinking a bit more, I can see your point relative to editorial or opinion quotes from the newspapers - as long as the pages are limited to these types of quotes, I can live with it. I withdraw my objection. ~ UDScott (talk) 12:52, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@User:UDScott and User:Rupert loup – On the other hand, the single example here is very recent and not particularly quotable. The concept seems rather commonplace to me. Is it possibly noteworthy because the idea is somehow unfamiliar to people in Pakistan? ~ Ningauble (talk) 13:14, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
