Genome and gene, or just genome?

Currently, there is no page for gene.  But, there could be.  So, the question is, should be do (A) or (B)?

(A)  Create a page for gene.  Set it up so that genes, genetic, genetics, and genetically all redirect to gene.  Leave genome as it is.

(B)  Do not create a page for gene.  Instead, set it up so that gene, genes, genetic, genetics, and genetically all redirect to genome.

Anybody have a preference?
