  • I think I'd most like to spend a day with Harry. I'd take him out for a meal and apologize for everything I've put him through.
  • Personally, If I were Harry Potter I think I would go and hide somewhere, but that's because I know what's coming!
  • It is important to remember that we all have magic inside us.
  • Journalists banging on my front door! Don't like that at all.
    • When asked what parts of fame she least enjoyed
  • Whether you come back by film or by page , Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.

The Ickabog

[edit]

isn't it time for some quotations from The Ickabog? If so, would that be served by a separate article? And I note that the online free version is no longer accessible. Are there some copyright issues to posting a quote which one has, by some way or other? Obviously, I am not suggesting long quotations, just the usual sort of short quotables. Just asking. Astead Herndon "fairly well-known quote"

[edit]

Although the link to the tweet itself seemed best, the tweet is hardly the only place mentioning that quote.[1] When you initially removed the quote on Sept. 12 you called it "inadequately sourced." Now it is adequately sourced, and a useful addition to this one-sided selection of quotes about JKR.

Per BRD, I believe this quote that was in the article from January 2023 until you removed it last week should be restored as the "stable version" unless you get consensus on the talk page for its removal. HouseOfChange (talk) 17:05, 20 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I follow Wikipedia sourcing policies and Twitter/X: "As a self-published source, it is considered generally unreliable and should be avoided unless the author is a subject-matter expert or the tweet is used for an uncontroversial self-description." Although a handful of articles online mention Astead Herndon's tweet (though not usually in the full version), they would be poor sources too on this metric. Therefore my deletion eight days ago and today were entirely legitimate. The length of time a quote remains is not necessarily related to its quality, merely that no one has bothered to remove it. Given Rowling's profile, I assume plenty of high quality critical quotes exist. Philip Cross (talk) 17:29, 20 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
The tweet is clearly a pithy and quotable opinion about JKR. The article has more general issues, and I have requested more eyes on it at this discussion. HouseOfChange (talk) 18:00, 20 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
