Edit warring and deleted quotes

[edit]

Rupert loup has deleted reliably sourced quotes from the article, including quotes from Bernard Lewis, one of the greatest scholars on Islam, who also wrote well known studies on Racism in the Arab world, so pertains very much to this article, and other scholars like David Brion Davis, and Murray Gordon, which I have been adding just a few hours ago and has been edit-warring again.

We have the articles on Racism in South Korea, Racism in Canada, Racism in the United States, Racism in the United Kingdom, so why should this be deleted?

Racism in the Arab world

[edit]

This page should only include quotes about the topic of racism in the Arab world, not examples of it, as is the case on pages about Racism, Antisemitism, etc. --Immutatus (talk) 22:15, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

There is no hard rule that this should be so. Antisemitism has quotes from Hitler and Nixon, Racism has quotes from Trump and other alleged racists, Racism in fiction has quotes from fiction authors, Racial views of Donald Trump has quotes from Trump, not just about his views, Racism in the United Kingdom has quotes from Enoch Powell. Also you removed some quotes that were about racism like the quote from Michael Cook.
Quotes should also always be moved to the talkpage and if quotes might fit well into other pages they should be moved there -- (talk) 11:15, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think many contributors agreed that it should be that way, see this discussion and diff for example. For the quote from Michael Cook, I wasn't sure about it because the second part isn't focused on the Arab world, but i'll just leave the quote the way it is for now since I don't have access to that book. --Immutatus (talk) 21:26, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

It also depends on the article. Racism and Antisemitism are top-level articles. There would simply be to many examples of racism to include in the article. For more specific articles about smaller topics, it can be different. If Racism in fiction should only be about secondary sources discussing the topic of racism in fiction, why have admins added examples of racism in fiction from a primary source [1] ? Quotes that are examples of the theme have been added on more specific articles by admins also on other articles: [2][3] -- (talk) 10:08, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

I've opened a new discussion about this issue here. --Immutatus (talk) 21:26, 14 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
