Images and their captions

The selection and presentation of some of the images on this page strike me as quite biased. Not that I am saying that Lott has not expressed views that are offensive and racist, but the way that these images are presented seems to go a bit far in my opinion. In particular, the third image, of members of the KKK, being directly associated with a quote saying that he supported Strom Thurmond is pushing a POV. Yes, Thurmond himself made many racist statements and actions, but Lott's statement that he supported Thurmond does not mean that he directly supported the KKK, as the image use seems to suggest. To be clear, I am not a supporter of many of Lott's views, but the way the page is currently presented clearly seems to show a POV. I would suggest more neutral image selections be used to maintain Wikiquote's NPOV aims. ~ UDScott (talk) 15:28, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

As an absurdist I tend to transcend and ignore the errors of many POVs which absurdly imply NPOV policies can or should impel people to eliminate POVs entirely, but I do agree that the use of the 3rd image is inappropriate, as it does strongly and unfairly imply a direct endorsement of the KKK which is not warranted by the statement, and would suggest that the use of one of Thurmond, would be closer to a properly moderated presentation. ~ ♞☤☮♌Kalki·†·⚓⊙☳☶⚡ 13:33, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

I have now changed the image to one of Thurmond on his 100th birthday, which was the actual occasion of the remarks. I am aware Lott may well have been slyly IMPLYING more, but it is not appropriate to assume that such implicit allusions go so far as an endorsement of the extremism of the KKK. ~ ♞☤☮♌Kalki·†·⚓⊙☳☶⚡ 13:40, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
