Talk:War crimes in the 2023 Israel-Hamas war
Add topicMerge or delete: WQ has an article 2023 Israel-Hamas war and another about War crimes
[edit]WQ has an article 2023 Israel-Hamas war and another about War crimes. No other war in human history has a spin-off article to showcase one side accusing the other of war crimes. Per Help:Starting_a_new_page: "For theme articles, it is especially important to first check for existing articles that might reasonably contain the quotes you wish to add. If a topic builds up enough quotes to merit its own article, it can always be "spun off" later." Removing some POV pushing that is neither notable nor quotable

- What set the tone was the early rhetoric from the Biden administration that gave unconditional support for what turned out to be a genocidal war. Blinken can try to soften his rhetoric and apply pressure, but in the end, it won’t bring back the dead in Gaza.

- Because the Israeli government refuses to allow western journalists safe and regular access to Gaza, local journalists like Wael Al-Dahdouh are the only sources of independent reporting on the impact of the Israeli government’s war crimes. That’s why the Israeli military keeps targeting journalists and their families. This must end. So must the broader genocide, cultural erasure and ethnic cleansing of the Gaza.

- A war crimes complaint has been filed against President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Trump adviser Jared Kushner in the International Criminal Court (ICC).... The complaint, filed by Middlesex University law professor William Schabas on June 30 on behalf of four Palestinians who live in the West Bank, states “there is credible evidence” that Trump, Netanyahu and Kushner “are complicit in acts that may amount to war crimes relating to the transfer of populations into occupied territory and the annexation of the sovereign territory of the State of Palestine.” Under article 15 of the ICC’s Rome Statute, any individual, group or organization can bring a complaint to the Office of the Prosecutor. ... Schabas’ complaint comes on the heels of unusual moves last month from the Trump administration, which declared a “national emergency” in June in an effort to shield U.S. and Israeli officials from ICC accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

- Israel continues to shamelessly trample on international law, the laws of war, and international humanitarian law by looking in the eyes of the international community, and it must be held accountable for the crimes it committed in front of international law.
- Recep Tayyip Erdogan, quoted in "Erdogan tells UN chief Israel must be tried in international courts for Gaza crimes" (28 November 2023), Reuters
- Humanitarian aid is a strategic dimension of foreign policy and diplomatic competition — an instrument of power and war. In Gaza, humanitarian assistance is being manipulated to serve political and military objectives, another breach among many in this war.
