  • [Jaws causes reconstruction scaffolds with rocks to collapse on himself, scoffing] Egyptian builders.
  • [Anya is attempting to turn over a van engine with Jaws ripping off external components] Can you play any other tune?
  • [Anya is pulling at gear shift stick] Let's try reverse. That's backwards.
  • [Jaws is preventing van from reversing] Would you like me to drive?
  • [Anya drives into wall] Women drivers.
  • [After a motorcycle Rider falls off a cliff to his death, to Anya] All those feathers and he still can't fly.
  • [In a car chase, to Anya] Do you ever get the feeling somebody doesn't like you?
  • [In a car chase, to Anya] Can you swim? [Drives off pier into water]
  • [While underwater, to Anya] It's time we said goodbye to an uninvited guest. [Launches torpedo which destroys enemy helicopter]
  • [Ruddering around in vehicle converted into a submarine, to Anya] Alone at last.
  • [Arriving at Karl Stromberg's underwater lair, to Anya] That's what we've come to look at.
  • [After Karl Stromberg fires his bolt] You shot your bolt, Stromberg... Now it's my turn.
  • [Finding Jaws hiding in a closet] He just dropped in for a quick bite.
  • [Hoisting Jaws by the mouth up with a mega magnet] How does that grab you?
  • [Uncorking wine bottle in escape pod, to Anywa] Ah. Maybe I misjudged Stromberg. Any man who drinks Dom Pérignon '52 can't be all bad.

  • [James underwater vehicle has sprung multiple leaks after a fight with Stromberg's henchmen] Do you think we can make it? [James drives up onto a beach to the intense fascination of beach goers]

Dialogue

[edit]
M: [Opens door of office] Moneypenny, where's 007?
Moneypenny: He's on a mission sir. In Austria.
M: Well, tell him to pull out. Immediately.

Honey Pot Spy: [Making love to James] Oh, James. I cannot find the words.
James Bond: Let me try and enlarge your vocabulary.

Q: Right. Now pay attention, 007. I want you to take great care of this equipment. There are one or two rather special accessories...
James Bond: Q, have I ever let you down?
Q: Frequently.

Karl Stromberg: Well gentlemen, now that the moment has come to bid you farewell, I congratulate both you, Doctor, and you, Professor, on your brilliant work in the development of the submarine tracking system. Thanks primarily to you, I am happy to say that the first phase of our operation has met with considerable success. I have instructed my assistant to have paid into your Swiss bank account the sum of ten million dollars each.
Prof. Markovitz: Thank you, sir.
Dr. Bechmann: Thank you indeed.
Karl Stromberg: And that, I think, concludes our business. Before you go, however, I very much regret to inform you that a dangerous development has recently been brought to my notice. Someone has been attempting to sell the plans of our tracking project to competing world powers; someone intimately associated with the project. [To his pretty young blonde assistant] My dear, it would perhaps be more seemly if you were to leave us. Thank you. [The young woman leaves and goes to an elevator. A trap opens under her and she is plunged into a shark tank, while Stromberg and the professors are watching her punishment on a screen] It was you who betrayed me!
Assistant: No!
Karl Stromberg: You had access to all the information. And now you will pay the penalty. [Closes the screen, leaving the assistant to her horrible death; to professors] Once again, gentlemen, my most profound thanks.

[Sandor is holding Bond's tie, both on top of a building, Sandor is forced to disclose the location of Aziz Fekkesh]
James Bond: [To Sandor] Where's Fekkesh? [Sandor says nothing] Where's Fekkesh!
Sandor: Pyramids!
[Bond slaps his tie, leading Sandor to fall to his death]
James Bond: [Observing Sandor's body on ground] What a helpful chap.

[After meeting in a bar and guessing each other's secret identities]
James Bond: The lady will have a... Bacardi on the rocks.
Major Anya Amasova: For the gentleman, vodka martini, shaken, not stirred.
James Bond: Touché.

Major Anya Amasova: Commander James Bond, recruited to the British Secret Service from the Royal Navy. Licensed to kill and has done so on numerous occasions. Many lady friends but married only once. Wife killed-
James Bond: All right, you've made your point.
Major Anya Amasova: You're sensitive, Mr. Bond?
James Bond: In some cases, yes.

James Bond: [Driving away from Jaws] That gorilla must have his teeth fixed by a riveter. By the way, thanks for deserting me back there.
Major Anya Amasova: Every woman for herself, remember?
James Bond: Still, you... you did save my life.
Major Anya Amasova: We all make mistakes, Mr. Bond.

Major Anya Amasova: [James speaks in Arabic to fisherman on Nile river] What did he say?
James Bond: He thinks we're overdressed, but he'll take us to Cairo.
Major Anya Amasova: Good. [Gets on boat]

Major Anya Amasova: It's getting cold.
James Bond: Is there anything I can do to warm you up?
Major Anya Amasova: You don't have to worry about me, Mr. Bond. I went on a survival course in Siberia.
James Bond: Yes, I believe a great number of your countrymen do. What did they teach you?
Major Anya Amasova: That it's very important to have a positive mental attitude.
James Bond: Nothing more practical than that?
Major Anya Amasova: Food is also very important.
James Bond: What else?
Major Anya Amasova: When necessary, shared bodily warmth.
James Bond: That's the part I like. [Kisses her] Is this really what they do in Siberia?
Major Anya Amasova: Yes, but not how they do it. [James slides hand down to her thigh with her hand still on it] You're not trying to take advantage of me, are you?
James Bond: The thought never crossed my mind. [She takes out a cigarette] Just when it was getting interesting. [Just as he holds up lighter, Anya blows sleeping powder in his face]

[James walks into Egyptian tomb to see Anya and Gogol]
M: [Appears] Hello, James. We've been expecting you.
James Bond: Good morning, sir.
M: There's been a change of plan. You probably recognize my opposite number in the KGB. General Gogol. [Anya appears] And I believe you're familiar with Major Amasova.
James Bond: Enough to know which cigarettes she smokes.
M: Our respective governments have agreed to pool their resources to find out what happened to our submarines.
General Gogol: We have entered a new era of Anglo-Soviet cooperation. [Anya reaches into bag] And as a sign of Russian good faith, [Anya hands him microfilm] I'm prepared to make available the microfilm recovered by Agent Triple X.
Major Anya Amasova: With considerable ease, I might add.
James Bond: [Gogol hands microfilm to M] Don't bother with it. It's useless. I examined it on the boat.
Major Anya Amasova: I assure you it is quite genuine.
James Bond: [Takes microfilm from M] Except that the vital technical information has been taken out.
M: This was only intended to whet our appetites.
James Bond: Maybe Q can make something out of it.

Q: [James, M, Anya and Gogol file into viewing room] Everybody ready? Right. [Displays electronic schematics drawing] Now, we're pretty certain that this drawing was drafted in Italy. The size corresponds with a Venetian octavo, and the typeface is an Italian one. Now, note the slight upward stress on the transversals.
James Bond: Q, what's that mark there?
Q: Probably something the drawing was resting on when it was photographed. Must have been done in a hurry.
James Bond: Can you enlarge it? Mm. Wait a minute.
General Gogol: Oratory. What is that?
James Bond: It's another word for chapel.
Q: Looks a bit like a bishop's mitre.
Major Anya Amasova: It is a fish. That is the symbol of the Stromberg shipping line. Karl Stromberg is one of the richest men in the world. One of the principal capitalist exploiters of the West, sir.
James Bond: It's not oratory, it's laboratory. Stromberg has a marine research laboratory. On Corsica, I believe.
Q: Well done, James.
Major Anya Amasova: Actually, sir, it is in Sardegna.
General Gogol: [Chuckles, gets up and walks in front of projector] That's brilliant. I'm certain that two such perceptive talents will enjoy working together in Sardinia, and that it will help to make Anglo-Soviet cooperation a reality. [James and Anya look at each other wryly]

Major Anya Amasova: [Waking up after being knocked out by Jaws who got thrown out of a train window] What happened?
James Bond: He just dropped in for a quick bite.
Major Anya Amasova: You're hurt.
James Bond: Later. Let's worry about you. What was it they taught you on that survival course?
Major Anya Amasova: A positive mental attitude.
James Bond: And shared bodily warmth. Nothing about keeping out of draughts. Still enjoy traveling by train?
Major Anya Amasova: You saved my life. Thank you, James.

James Bond: [Amasova has just used a Bond car gadget to kill an enemy] How did you know about that?
Major Anya Amasova: I stole the blueprints to this car two years ago.

[After discovering Bond killed her lover]
James Bond: In our business, Anya, people get killed. We both know that. So did he. It was either him or me. The answer to the question is yes. I did kill him.
Major Anya Amasova: Then when this mission is over, I will kill you.

[Having infiltrated the Liparus, Bond takes out two guards inside a room where the British H.M.S. Polaris crew are kept]
James Bond: Where's your captain?!
Commander Talbot: [Climbs up] Here.
James Bond: Release the other crews, then make for the armoury.
Commander Talbot: Right. [To crew] Follow me, men, on the double! [The British crew break out the US and Soviet sub crews]

James Bond: [Eludes a trap door of the killing chute] You did want me to drop in. Where's Anya?
Karl Stromberg: Well, well, well. A British agent in love with a Russian agent. Détente indeed. Sit down, Mr. Bond.
James Bond: Your time's running out, Stromberg.
Karl Stromberg: Yours too, Mr. Bond. Yours too. And faster than you think.
James Bond: [Eludes a bolt fired at him from under table] You've shot your bolt, Stromberg. Now it's my turn. [Fires two rounds at Karl into the tube from under table and fires a shot into Karl's chest killing him]

Major Anya Amasova: [Aims gun at James in escape pod] The mission is over, Commander.
James Bond: Mm? In my country the condemned man is usually allowed a final request.
Major Anya Amasova: Granted.
James Bond: Let's get out of these wet things. [They kiss]
Major Anya Amasova: [Cuddling with him] But, James, what would our superiors say?
James Bond: They're never going to know.

[M and General Gogol recover an escape pod from Stromberg's lair but see Bond and Anya in bed together]
M: 007!
Gen. Gogol: Triple X!
Sir Frederick Grey: Bond, what do you think you're doing?!
James Bond: ...Keeping the British end up, sir. [Closes the curtains]
