Sourcing quotes
[edit]I notice that you and another editor are having a conflict over the attribution to the following quote about Life:
- Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
Please note that Wikiquote collects quotes from people who have established notability, which is demonstrated by the fact that their quotes are already published in reliable sources, like books, newspapers, magazines, films, TV shows, commercially produced albums, and other materials that have editorial boards to research and confirm their information. Arguments like these are why it is essential that we find these sources and cite them in our articles.
In this case, I have found no definitive sources yet, but the only reliable ones I've found so far I have cited under the quote. Please do not change this sourcing without an explicit citation of equally or more reliable sources. (Most websites, including virtually all quote websites, do not qualify as reliable sources by the Wikimedia definition.) If you have any questions about this, feel free to post a note to me on my talk page. Thank you for your cooperation. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 23:59, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
