Wow, you have been busy lately adding pages to Wikiquote!

You might also like to use the Wikiquote template as a guide when you are creating or editing entries - but don't feel obliged to, its just a suggestion.

Anyway, keep up the good work! Nanobug 03:40, 23 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Well, thanks for the encouragement!! Much appreciated... User:ILVI Jay Bowks.

Your contributions to Wikiquote of very high quality, keep up the good work! Also, you might want to consider adding the names of people you quote to List of people so that they get seen. Basil Fawlty 00:22, 29 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Notability of quote subjects

[edit]

Your article on Ségur has been nominated for deletion. While I was researching it, I noticed that you are a long-time Wikiquotian who has started and contributed to a variety of articles, but who has also created "vanity" articles (personal quote pages in the main article space) that have been subsequently deleted. (Specifically, your articles titled "Jacinto Javier Bowks de la Rosa" (archive) and "James Norman Bowks Sr." (archive) were deleted several months ago. I am hoping this is just a misunderstanding about what Wikiquote is and is not; namely, that it is for quotes from notable subjects, like published writers, famous individuals, and well-known creative works.

Current Wikiquote policy allows and even encourages quotes from non-notable subjects (like most Wikiquotians, myself included!) be placed on user pages. If you would like, I can recover the earlier-deleted articles and provide you with their content for your own user page. Meanwhile, please review the current deletion nominations for Ségur and Jacinto Caetano (which I just added) to provide information that might help the community decide whether these articles should be kept. Thank you very much for your assistance, and for your contributions. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 10:46, 13 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Pages with no introductions

[edit]

Hi. The pages for Charles Saxby and Charles Coffey, which you created, have no introduction explaining who they are. Since you created those, I assume you have some information (perhaps author's bio from a book jacket?). If you could add it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ~ MosheZadka (Talk) 07:41, 22 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Ellen Langer

[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Ellen Langer, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but it may not satisfy Wikiquote's criteria for inclusion, for the reasons given in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikiquote is not" and Wikiquote's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Votes for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
