Thank you for your effort to contribute to our project, but Wikiquote is not an encyclopedia: it is a compendium of quotations. Articles without quotations, such as essays or biographies, will be deleted. Please see the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our compendium of quotations. Thanks. |

Thank you for your effort to contribute to our project, but Wikiquote exists for the collecting of notable quotations of famous people and famous works, not for the posting of quotations of people not yet famous in some field. Within bounds of Wikimedia policy, registered users can put quotes of themselves or people they know on their user pages. For a quick overview of what Wikiquote is, read Wikiquote:Wikiquote, and also What Wikiquote is not for a list of common activities that Wikiquote does not support. |

{{remove}} |
Quotes should never be removed without a comment in the edit summary, and should almost always be moved to the Talk page with a note that they were removed from the article, giving full reasoning. If it is a misattribution, the quote should not be removed, instead being moved to a "Misattributed" section, where explanation of the misattribution can be made in a subbullet. Thanks. |

{{subst:Vanity-warn}} |
An article that you've created and/or edited, [[{{{1}}}]], has been [[WQ:VFD#{{{1}}}|nominated for deletion]] at Wikiquote:Votes for deletion (VfD). Based on reviews of similar quote articles, it is suspected that these are not quotes of notable figures with published references, which is what Wikiquote collects, but rather quotes from yourself or your friends or acquaintances. These are what we refer to as "vanity" quotes, much like Wikipedia's "vanity" articles. As is pointed out in Wikiquote:FAQ and What Wikiquote is not, which are recommended reading, such quotes are perfectly acceptable on one's user page, but are not a proper subject for quotation in Wikiquote articles. If so, I invite you to copy the quotes to your user page before the article is deleted. If instead this person or subject has some notoriety in the world at large, and has been quoted in the mainstream media, please provide evidence of this in the VfD entry mentioned above. Thank you for your cooperation. |

{{VFDremove1|ArticleName}} |
Please do not remove VFD tags, as you did at ArticleName. The notice must remain in place until the discussion is closed. If you are interested in the discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikiquote:Votes for deletion/ArticleName. Thank you. |

Once again, please do not remove VFD tags. If you continue to disrupt the VFD process by removing the notice before the discussion has concluded then you will be blocked from editing Wikiquote. |

Your username has been blocked as inappropriate, in line with our blocking policy. You are encouraged to create a new account and contribute to Wikipedia under a more appropriate username, and in a constructive manner. See our username policy for guidance on selecting an appropriate username. Alternatively, you may edit Wikiquote without creating an account. You are not allowed to edit Wikiquote under an inappropriate username. Due to Wikiquote's mechanism for enforcing name-changes, your IP address may be temporarily blocked. Unless you have also been engaging in vandalism, we will remove that block as soon as possible - if this doesn't happen within an hour or so, please email an administrator and explain the situation to them - see list of administrators. If you wish to keep your edits from this username in a new account, please see Wikiquote:Changing username to change your username. |

{{subst:sign}} |
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you post messages on talkpages and Wikiquote pages, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ("~~~~") at the end of your message. You may also click on the signature button which is above the edit window. This will put a signature containing your user name or IP address and the time you posted the message. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. |

{{subst:sign2}} |
Hi. I wanted to ask you to sign comments in talk pages. The easiest way to sign is to add ~~~~ at the end -- it is automatically transformed to your username and a timestamp. This makes it much easier to track discussions, and is the common practice here. Thanks. |

{{subst:summary}} |
Thank you for your contributions to Wikiquote. Might I ask that you please use the "Edit summary" feature whenever you edit to provide a terse summary of the changes you make during each edit? This helps folks review article changes from a broad perspective without having to do server-intensive, step-by-step examination of individual edits. If you'd like more information on this, please see Wikipedia:Edit summary or drop me a note on my talk page. Thank you for your assistance. |
