Once Upon a Studio is a 2023 live-action/animated fantasy comedy crossover short produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and written and directed by Dan Abraham and Trent Correy. It debuted on June 11, 2023 at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and had its first public showing on ABC on October 15, 2023. Once Upon a Studio features Mickey Mouse corralling a gallery of legendary Disney characters for a group photo in honor of The Walt Disney Company's centennial.

Dialogue

Mickey Mouse: [after all the animators leave the studio, Mickey comes to life from the cel with him and Minnie] Psst! Tink. Tinker Bell. You there? [Tinker Bell flies to him] Is that it? They all gone? [Tinker Bell nods] Oh boy! [jumps out of the cel, taking Minnie's hand and pulls her with him into the studio] Come on, Minnie. This is it!
Minnie Mouse: Let's get the gang! YOO-HOO!
Tiana: [hears from her cel] There's the signal! [jumps out of her cel and into the studio] All right, y'all! It's picture time!
[other characters start coming out of their respective cels]
Pinocchio: That's tonight?
Tiana: That's now.
Judy Hopps: 100-year group photo! And the sun's going down. C'mon, let's "hop" to it!
Nick Wilde: Ooo, a bunny pun. [chuckles] Gotta like that.
[A rush of water causes Flounder to land in Moana's arms]
Flounder: [weakly] Water...
Moana: [frantic] Uh... [hurries to the in-studio coffee shop; Merlin is making and having tea with Mrs. Potts and Chip, with The Mad Hatter, March Hare, and Cogsworth]
Cogsworth: No, no, no. There's no time for tea!
Moana: Merlin! A little help?
Merlin: Oh! [thinks for a moment] Oh. Chapeauious Bowlious!
[Mad Hatter's hat is taken off his head and flipped upside down, with water filling it. Moana quickly puts Flounder inside, who then sighs in relief]
Mad Hatter: [chuckles, to a passing penguin waiter] Oh, waiter! There's a carp in my cap!
[Stromboli angrily struggles with a vending machine as Elsa and Anna walk by]
Anna: Yi-ikes. Do you think all the villains will show up?
[They walk by a cel with Prince Hans. He starts to step out; Elsa freezes the cel and Hans solid]
Elsa: Hmm, not all.
Hans: [strains]
[Olaf is drawing a cel]
Olaf: [quietly singing] I'm in the mood, to help ya, dude...
Timon: [walking by with Pumbaa] Hey, Frosty! Shake a leg, will ya?
Olaf: [to the audience] The leg won't make a difference. It's all in the wrist.
[The Genie suddenly magically pops out of the cel, knocking Olaf over and he falls into pieces]
The Genie: Oi! I haven't seen a fall like that since Rome. [uses his magic to repair Olaf] Oh, much better.
Mickey Mouse: [sees Kaa hypnotizing Clarabelle] Kaa? Kaa! You stop that now, Kaa!
Rapunzel: [passes by Mickey with her frying pan] Don't worry, Mickey. [chuckles] I got this. [off camera, Rapunzel hits Kaa with the frying pan]
[Mickey sees a picture of Walt Disney. He takes his hat off in reverence, taking a moment to look at the picture]
Minnie Mouse: [from a distance] Oh, Mickey! Where are you? We're in the lobby!
Mickey Mouse: [to the picture of Walt] Oh, heh, gotta go...but thanks. [puts his hat back on] On with the show.
Raya: Coast is clear, Mick.
Mickey Mouse: Great! Right this way! [Ralph walks into the studio entrance door] Oh! Ralph, you okay?
Wreck-It Ralph: Never better, Garfield. [trips over a garbage bin]
Scar: I'm surrounded by [ducks as Mr. Toad rides on the magic carpet] IDIOTS!
Mr. Toad: Tally-ho! Whee! I'll show you the world! Ha-ha-ha!
Mickey Mouse: Oh, great. The ladder.
[Ichabod Crane ducks his head to avoid the ladder being carried by Goofy and runs away]
Trusty: [while walking with Jock] I don't recollect if I've ever mentioned Old Reliable before. He'd say, uh...
Flora: Make it pink. [turns the giant Sorcerer Hat on the studio building pink]
Merryweather: Ohh, make it blue! [turns the giant Sorcerer Hat back to blue]
Mickey Mouse: Okay, everybody. Get together now. [to Oswald] Oh! After you.
Emperor Kuzco: No touchy!
Rafiki: [laughs and hands the camera to Goofy] It is time.
Goofy: [chuckles as he grabs the camera] Thank you. [starts climbing up the ladder while humming, the ladder rocking precariously]
Mickey Mouse: Goofy, careful!
Goofy: [continues climbing until he reaches to the top, the ladder swaying farther and farther back and forth] All right. Now where's that timer button?
Iago: Oh, oh! Three, two, one...
Goofy: YAAH-HOO-HOO-HOO-HOOEY!!! [falls off the ladder, breaking the camera as Stitch comes in and starts gnawing on the plate until Lilo drags him away]
Grumpy: Well, that was fun.
Eeyore: Maybe we can try again in another hundred years.
[everyone starts to walk somberly back into the studio, the group photo apparently ruined. Suddenly, Alan-a-Dale starts playing "When You Wish Upon a Star" on his lute. Scat Cat joins with his trumpet, followed by Mirabel on her accordion and Hathi Jr. playing a trumpet noise through his trunk]
Belle: [starts singing] Anything your heart desires...
Belle & the Beast: [The Beast joins her] Will come to you.
Hades: [spoken, annoyed] I knew this was gonna happen.
Quasimodo: [singing] If your heart is in your dream...
Pocahontas: [singing] No request is too extreme.
Ariel: [singing] When you wish up- [gets interrupted by Scuttle's off-key attempt to squawk along with the song. His beak is quickly closed by Baloo]
Baloo & Mowgli: [singing] As dreamers do.
[the camera has been fixed by Fix-it-Felix Jr., and Goofy, with help from the Fairy Godmother, places the camera on the ladder]
Snow White, Mulan, and Asha: [singing] Like a bolt out of the blue.
Winnie the Pooh: [singing] Fate steps in... [gets knocked over and landed on by Tigger; chuckles] And sees you through.
Jiminy: [Standing on Mickey's hand, singing] When you wish upon a star
All: [singing] Your dreams… come… true!
[Tinker Bell comes back as everyone singing and holding a note to make a group picture as they continue singing and holding a note]
