Your page

Hi, John. I'm sorry, I deleted your article "John Fekner". Please see Wikiquote:What Wikiquote is not, particularly the sections "Wikiquote is not a personal website" and "Wikiquote is not a collection of your personal quotes." Please use your user page for information about yourself.

Thank you for your message about Wikiquote. As you may or may not know, there is a Wikiquote logo link at the bottom of the John Fekner page on Wikipedia that Incantation is working on. (She's been interviewing me this year for her thesis). She suggested I add some of my quotes from interviews, etc at Wikiquote. I started to set that up and you contacted me. Where do you suggest I place quoted material? Thanks for your help-Jfekner

Well, first let me apologize for not realizing there was a WP article on you. I saw the "John Fekner" page with the single words "John Fekner" and jumped to the conclusion that you were someone planning to create a page of their own quotes just for grins (as often happens). That said, "placeholder" pages don't usually survive very long (if I hadn't zapped it, one of the other admins would have), and, although it happens occasionally, creating your own page is usually considered bad form (if you're notable enough to deserve a page, you're probably notable enough to have someone else create it). This case is obviously an exception, but what I would suggest you do, to avoid any further misunderstandings with other admins, is to use your own page, User:Fekner as a staging area for your quoted material. Once you have a critical mass of quotations, Incantation can easily create the "John Fekner" page from your quotes. Or I can do it, since I'm the one who caused the trouble. Let me know if I can help. --Ubiquity 23:30, 17 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ubiquity,

Thanks again for the info and assistance. Once I've compiled some of the written quotes and text...maybe we can work together on this. Also liked what you contributed on the Dylan pages-JF
