Removing sourced material from pages

Please do not remove sourced material from pages, as you have done here diff, and here diff. The ATTRIBUTED sect is specifically for quotes that are cited in reliable sources and attributed to the individual. -- Cirt (talk) 16:27, 12 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Page blanking vandalism

Please do not arbitrarily page blank sourced info from pages because you simply don't like the material or what is being said by it, as this is vandalism.

Please do not do this again diff, or you may be blocked from editing.

Thank you,

Thank you for your attempts at adding material

[edit]

Thank you for your attempts at adding material and broadening the ranges of information available on our project. Though normally I am not very much interested in Werner Erhard‎‎, I have restored a quote of him which you had provided, with less contentious links to such source material as could very easily be found by anyone in any search engine in a few seconds, were they not actively hostile to anything apparently positive regarding him appearing here.

I wish to note that I can also accept the restoration of some quotes you had recently removed from the Scientology page, perhaps in reaction to one editor's apparent campaigns of zealous hostility towards Erhard‎‎ and others. I generally disapprove of the censorship involved in the removal of legitimate information regarding anything or anyone, whether I agree with some of it or not, but I can concede your rationale implying that these quotes for the most part had very little relevance to the page they were on had far more legitimacy than the extremely bogus, spurious and smugly misleading claims one of our proud administrators repeatedly made in relation to your attempt to add a quite sufficiently sourced quote of Erhard which was not actually unfavorable to the impressions a person might develop of him.

I personally have little inclination to promote or defend Erhard‎‎, and a great deal of contempt and suspicion regarding many of his past activities and aims, but am not bigoted against the proper contributions of those having other views, and can concede that there are probably severe imbalances in the presentations of quotes regarding him on this project. Personally, I tend to regard him as far too egocentric and egotistical in many ways, and far too casually misleading and shallow in some of his past assertions yet far to rigorously presumptuous and dogmatic in others, with what I perceive as definite strains of modern forms of cynicism — but will not deny that, like many flawed human beings, he apparently can operate to the benefit of others despite this, and actually manifest genuine social concerns and engage in significantly charitable activities — something I know many others find even more difficult to do because of their own very small-minded and shallow egocentric bigotries and personal agenda, and who might habitually and hypocritically "arbitrarily page blank sourced info from pages" because they simply don't like the material or what is being said — which I believe most of us who regularly edit here actually DO regard as vandalism.

I remain somewhat busy with many other things and have not the time for further commentary at present, as I must attend to several other things and then be leaving, but if you remain resolutely hostile to the inclusion of some of the material you removed, I would advise bringing it up at the Village Pump, where community consensus can perhaps eventually be developed regarding the matter, and if the attempts to censor the sufficiently sourced quotation which you had legitimately added continue, to definitely bring that up as well. ~ Kalki·· 11:21, 15 November 2013 (UTC) + tweaksReply

Thank you, User:Kalki, I agree with you that censorship is bad. Cheers, -- Cirt (talk) 18:07, 15 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thank you User:Kalki I appreciate your helpful information. --MLKLewis (talk) 03:24, 17 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
