Semi-protection
[edit]Hi MathXplore, I've gone ahead and semi-protected your userpage here as it seems to be getting a lot of vandalism. This won't affect you as you are already autoconfirmed but if you want it removed then let me know. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 21:30, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
Thank you! MathXplore (talk) 02:16, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
On dealing with LTA
[edit]Hi, MathXplore, thanks for your contribution and reverting vandalism. I'd like to kindly note you that we have introduced a new method for dealing with vandals. Please have a look at Wikiquote:Village_pump#A_small_idea. Lemonaka (talk) 13:51, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
- I didn't know that, thank you for the notice. MathXplore (talk) 14:02, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
Pages with incorrect names or capitalisation in title.
[edit]Suggest either leave @UDScott: or other admin to move or asked to be placed in the Pagemover ? group to to have the suppressredirect ? right added. Thanks. (If UDSCott) see the use of {{Wikipedia}} they will often action the move. -- DeirgeDel tac 09:10, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for the suggestion. According to Special:ListGroupRights this project does not have pagemover, but we may discuss its installation with the wider community. Actually I already have supress-redirect as part of my global rollbacker permissions, but I can only use that in order to revert page move vandalism (w:WP:MOVEVANDAL) etc. I also move pages for correcting capitalizations at other projects, and these do not seem to require supress-redirect, so I think most of my page moves at here may not need supress-redirect (w:Wikipedia:Redirects are cheap). MathXplore (talk) 09:20, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- @MathXplore: One of the key things I look at is [1] for sitelinking and redirects do not show up on that but speedied redirects do. It just makes the tidy up work here harder. Pagemover might be useful for a couple of us non-admins who look at newly created pages: The cost/risk/benefit would probably be appropriate. I'm reasonably in alignment with Redirects are cheap essay but there it still a cost and possible bad practice promotion. -- DeirgeDel tac 09:33, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for checking Special:UnconnectedPages, actually I was not checking that page and now I understand your concern. I also agree to the usefullness of the pagemover rights, I have similar permissions at English Wikipedia (pagemover), English Wikibooks (as reviewer), English Wikiversity (as curator), and Wikimedia Commons (as filemover). Pagemover-like user groups exist in various projects so it's not hard to imagine Wikiquote to have that (though I'm not sure if our community would agree to that). Hi, I observe at Special:Diff/3330201 you good faith converted Kötü Kedi Şerafettin (2016 film) from a redirect to Bad Cat to an article on the same subject. As Wikiquote:Votes for deletion/Bad Cat had decided Bad Cat should be deleted this Kötü Kedi Şerafettin (2016 film) page should be deleted also. As such I've marked Kötü Kedi Şerafettin (2016 film) for speedy deletion. If you have concerns my understanding is the procedure is to raise the matter with closer @Saroj Uprety: moving to WQ:DRV if appropriate. There is no question of a notability issue here but per the VfD the concern is of quotability. Thankyou. -- DeirgeDel tac 18:22, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- I didn't know there was a VFD before, thank you for the notice. MathXplore (talk) 01:38, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
Warning users
[edit]Hi MathXplore and thanks for all your help here. With the warning on User talk:112.204.103.207, I think it'd be better to give them a month year heading (like August 2023) as we do on simplewiki, or no heading at all if no messages were sent before. That way, if the user needs to be warned again, it can stay under the same topic, instead of a new topic having to be created each time. Thanks, Ferien (talk) 19:57, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, since I'm sending that messages per script, I will discuss your suggestion with the developer. Thank you very much. MathXplore (talk) 04:26, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
- (Update) I started the discussion at the developer's talk page (special:diff/3344850). MathXplore (talk) 05:05, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks! Somehow I didn't notice that message was done by a script. If I have anything more to add, I'll head over to Lemonaka's talk page. --Ferien (talk) 15:43, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
PROD deletions
[edit]Hi MathXplore. If the prod template is removed, like it was here, please do not revert it. This is per what the template says "If this template is removed, it should not be replaced." If the template is removed and you think the article should still be deleted, please send it to votes for deletion. Thanks! --Ferien (talk) 11:35, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
Hi
[edit]Hi MathXplore/2023 I Noticed that you have just created a new category Category:Wikimedia projects. I am not sure but it appears that you have added several non-mainspace pages to it, something that is a no-no on the enwp. Ottawahitech (talk) 14:56, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, I have reverted such changes. MathXplore (talk) 15:00, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
DUPCAT (Ghetto)
[edit]Hi MathXplore/2023,
Since you do a lot of rapid additions/updates of categories, I wonder if you are aware of w:Wikipedia:DUPCAT? Ottawahitech (talk) 17:44, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- I didn't have a look at that documentation before, but I do recognize that such type of exceptions exist in various areas. Does a similar system exist in Wikiquote, and did my recent edits had something to do with w:WP:DUPCAT? MathXplore (talk) 05:40, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi MathXplore/2023: Yes, I believe many of your edits reflect your misunderstanding of what non-diffusing categories are for. You may want to have a look at Amanda Filipacchi for some background on this issue. Ottawahitech (talk) 13:30, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- Can I ask what should I learn from Amanda Filipacchi? I don't understand what issue that you are talking about. MathXplore (talk) 13:34, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- Have a look at Category talk:Women#WP:Ghetto. If you have any more questions you can ping me from there. Ottawahitech (talk) 05:22, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

I undid one of your many category edits
[edit]HI MathXplore/2023, I just undid the change you made at Missouri on 25 October 2023. I hope my edit summary explains why?
Thanks in advance, Ottawahitech (talk) 20:32, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
