"I wonder"
[edit]I too wonder about communicating the core values. As I remarked parenthetically at the strategy wiki, this project attracts a large proportion of "infotainment" content of dubious relevance to the educational mission. I think that some contributors, unaware of the purpose expressed in the foundation's mission and value statements, see Wikiquote as an entertainment medium rather than an educational one.
The property of quotability here is much more subjective than notability at Wikipedia, so there is really no way to draw bright lines. Nevertheless, I feel that quality would be substantially improved if the mission were more readily appreciated. ~ Ningauble 17:15, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
Ontology
[edit]What is your definition of education, aside from the stated mission/ value statement, in the context of what your choosing (ie, context of nothing or an absurdist's context)? What is an autodidact's purpose? Adamaero (talk) 23:18, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
