VfD nominations
[edit]Sk8terhata, please read the information at the top of Wikiquote:Votes for deletion, under "The process", before nominating a page for deletion. Your nomination is currently invisible to the community and will therefore be ignored if someone does not fix it. (One is also supposed to read Wikiquote:Deletion policy, as it says at the very top of WQ:VFD, to understand the entire deletion process for the Wikiquote community and avoid such gaffes.)If you have any questions after you read this material, feel free to ask me. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 16:50, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- I also note that you quickly deleted our welcome message with the edit summary "Fuck off. i'm not in the mood". You can certainly do this, but your subsequent failure to follow Wikiquote policies and this particular response doesn't bode well for your working well with the community. Might I suggest that you take a little time to review the information we are asking you to read, and consider the benefits of civility? I think you may find it useful. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 17:17, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- I apologize the cursing, etc., is over. I am a person of my words and i put back the welcome message by the Welcomebot. Please forgive me. My girlfriend lefted me anyways and that is why I was sad these past few months. Sk8terhata
- We don't censor material on Wikiquote. My advice was to suggest that you aren't likely to get cooperation from people you are rude to, that's all. And we don't care if you delete the message, but we expect folks to know or learn the information in these and other pages. For example, it is a basic, long-established practice in all Wikimedia projects that you sign your talk pages with four tildes (~~~~), which automatically generates not just a link to your user page, but also a timestamp to show when you posted your comment. This can be very important when trying to understand the flow of discussions, and is absolutely essential in registering comments and votes in VfD discussions. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 18:17, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- Sk8terhata, I see that you have reformatted the VfD, but you still have not completed the deletion nomination process, which includes the nomination page on the main Wikiquote:Votes for deletion page. This is Step III in process I've now asked you twice to read. Please understand that while we welcome new editors, encourage them to try new things, and try to be patient with the errors we all make when doing something new, nominating articles for deletion is a serious violence to the work of others, and should only be done by someone who knows what they're doing. It is possible, even likely, that this nomination will be deleted as bad-faith, especially considering the turmoil surrounding a suspiciously large number of new users involved in
electronic-gameanime articles who seem more interested in fighting with each other than improving Wikiquote. I would suggest that you are much more likely to be taken seriously based on your editing, not your professions of cooperation. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 18:26, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

After reviewing the edit histories of several relevant pages to see how the nomination came into being, I have deleted Wikiquote:Votes for deletion/Dragon Ball Z because it now appears to me to be a bad-faith nomination. I have posted a notice about this at WQ:AN#Anime article edits, VfD, and sockpuppetry. You are welcome to present counter-arguments there, but I strongly advise you to review all relevant policies before you do this if you wish to be taken seriously. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 19:21, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- I apologize for my miscategorization errors above. I meant "anime" when I said "electronic games". ~ Jeff Q (talk) 19:39, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Zarbon
[edit]- Copied from User talk:Jeffq#even more sockpuppets:
Jeffq, I have read every single line at the policey you made and will never stop following the rules. Zarbon is mean to me. All he does is vandalise by saying i am a sockpuppet of strange people I dont even know! please ban him and vote on the dbz page and delete it. Thank you very much. - You gotta help me. Zarbon keeps calling me a vandal and removes that tag. Definitely, HE is the sockpuppet here. Look at his wikipedia account and his banned ip. All he does is picks on me cause I'm a kid. Please ban him. Sk8terhata — post was made 18:04, 17 June 2007 (UTC) [JQ]
- Sk8terhata, I'm afraid I can't take your first statement as accurate. You have already demonstrated that you are unaware of basic aspects of the Wikiquote deletion process. Also, various other elements of your editing style and frequency undermine your claim to complete innocence in this situation. Please address the problems I listed on your user talk page before insisting on action against other users. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 18:11, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
