Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (also known as Madagascar 3) is a 2012 American 3D computer-animated comedy film, produced by DreamWorks Animation, and distributed by Paramount Pictures. It is the third installment of the series, following Madagascar and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, and it is the first 3D film in the series. The film is directed by Eric Darnell, Tom McGrath and Conrad Vernon, and was released generally to the public on June 8, 2012, two weeks before Disney and Pixar's Brave.

Alex: Did they just say they're never coming back? [No one responds.] Guys? [camera zooms out to show that Africa is in ashes, sees Marty on a treadmill] Marty?
Marty: [elderly] Oh, goody you're here! [shoves haystack into Alex's mouth] Why don't you just chew on this? I'm hungry. [the treadmoll, now a conveyer belt sends Alex through a door, where he lands onto one of Melman's legs]
Melman: Oooh! [old man voice] I'm just messin' with ya. I lost that thing years ago. [he chuckles for a bit before snores]
Alex: Melman, why do you look like that?
Gloria: Oh, look who's talkin'!
Alex: Gloria? Why are you guys so...elderly?
Gloria: Now when's the last time you looked in the mirror?
Alex: What? [sees the mirror, realizes he also elderly] No!!!
Alex: You're going the wrong way, Marty!
Marty: Just call me Marty-o Andretti!
Alex: No, you're Sucky-o Andretti!
[Outside of the van, DuBois slowly drives up directly beside the driver's door.]
Marty: Stop back-seat driving!
Alex: I'm passenger-seat driving, and I want the wheel! Give me the wheel!
Marty: It's not a wheel, it's my baby!
Alex: Your hooves aren't meant to be on a wheel!
[Upon seeing, she is immedietly confused.]
Marty: It's too late for you to drive now!
We were stuck here in Africa, and we were all super-old and wrinkly... Well, I aged well, but the rest of you looked terrible!
Alex? You are from a zoo?
Leaving the zoo was the best thing that ever happened to us.
Julien: I'm flying! I'm flying! I'm the first flying monkey!
Mort: Oh, yay!
Marty: That's our ticket outta here!
Melman: Yeah, baby!
[Everyone suddenly hears engine revving, looking behind them, the door to a building breaks open to reveal DuBois speeding towards the Hotel Ambassador's rooftop, her bike ramps off in slow motion where she leaps off from it]
Alex: Everybody, on the monkey chain!
[Slow motions stops as DuBois lands on the rooftop, drawing out her catcher.]
Skipper: Deploy banana gun!
[The aircraft deploys a smaller section with a banana-loaded Gatling gun, operated by a chimp. DuBois stops, and the chimp fires bananas at her; she begins to slice and dice at the oncoming shots.]
Alex: Grab the little guys! Toss 'em up! Let's go! Go, go, go! Go!
Marty: Faster! Faster! Come on!
[While DuBois continues to dodge the banana shots, the banana gun suddenly jams and cannot shoot anymore. With a smirk and a flick to remove a speck of banana mush from her shoulder, DuBois then runs towards the group.]
Alex: Come on, Melman!
Melman: Whoo! Yeah! [Melman gets lassoed.]
Gloria: Melman!
Melman: My neck!
Skipper: Put your backs into it! Double banana overdrive!
Melman: Whoa!
Marty: Oh, no!
Skipper: Serpentine! Serpentine!
Julien: Hey, this lady is really starting to freak me out. Fix it, Mort!
Alex: (I'm goning to save Melman. Here.) Hold this.
Marty: Alex, be careful! She's crazy!
Alex: You think, Marty?! [Mort jumps towards Alex just in time for him to cut the wire as DuBois falls into the pool below] That's right. Home free, baby!
Melman: I can breathe!
Alex: Au revoir, DuBois!
DuBois: [rises from the pool with a vengeful glare] Well played, lion. [Tightens cap] Game on.
Alex: Stefano, why the sad little face?
Stefano: Vitaly. He will not go on!
Alex: What?
Stefano: I tried everything I could! [weeping]
Alex: Shhhhh... Wipe away the tears. Calm down. Where is he? I'm sure I can reason with him.
Gia: Alex, you're from a zoo?
Alex: [Alex and his friends look at them in shock. Their lie is now revealed.] Yes, yes. But wait, there's more.
Gia: More?
Alex: Or less. There's less.
Vitaly: You were never circus?
Gloria: We had to say we were circus!
Melman: Or you never would've let us on the train!
Gia: After all we've been through together, you want to go live in a zoo?
Alex: Gia, I...
Vitaly: You used us!
Alex: No, no, no! I mean... I mean yes, but... but...
Gia: And Trapeze Americano, you made that up too?
Alex: It didn't exactly exist when I taught it to you.
Gia: [groans] Jet packs and aquatic cobras! I should've known!
Stefano: "Balloons to the children of the world" was not real either?
Alex: Yeah, that's not real. But look at what we did!
Stefano: I WAS SHOT OUT OF A CANNON! I COULD'VE DIED!
Marty: But I thought you said it was your lifelong dream!
Stefano: For all I know… your name is not even Alice.
Alex: No, Stefano, but it never really was.
Stefano: I don't feel safe! [Stefano sobs in Gia's arms as Vitaly looks at Alex and his friends, feeling betrayed and hurt]
Alex: Gia, I...
Gia: [tearfully] We trusted you. [turns and leaves in depression along with the others]
Stefano: MY TEARS ARE REAL! YOU ARE NOT!
[Alex, Marty, Melman, and Gloria hang their heads in shame. The penguins follow the circus crew.]
Skipper: [sobbing] I can't believe you lied to all of us circus folk! [blows his beak]
Julien: Me? Stay with the circus? [Sonya starts hugging him] Ow! I am the king; I want to rule New York! We should talk— Whoa! [Sonya tries to make him stay, hurting him.] Stop it! No means no! Or in your language, "Raah!" [Sonya growls.] Not everything is solved that way, you know. [Sonya walks over to lay on big blue ball.] Sonya! Are you listening to me?! Now I'm getting the silent treatment, am I? Come over here, right now! [He frustrately walks to Sonya.] Don't shut me out, baby! What is wrong with you?! Speak! [Sonya roars in Julien's face] Okay, if these are your feelings, I understand now. [He starts to leave.] And I'm going! It's obvious that I'm just an emotional whoopee cushion for you to sit on. [He opens the door.] When you look for where I am... I WON'T BE THERE! [Julien slams the door behind him and sobs; Sonya looks back at the door and lets out a sad grunt.]
Gloria: Well... we're here.
Marty: Home.
Alex: Huh. My rock looks smaller than I remember it.
Marty: Look at the mural. Doesn't actually capture the real thing, does it?
Gloria: Wow. I forgot about that wall in between us, Melman.
Melman: Mm-hmm.
Gloria: Was that always there?
Marty: [remembers his escape to the Grand Central Station from the first movie] Guys, I'm sorry I ever left the zoo in the first place.
Alex: What do you mean?
Marty: I mean, if I had just stayed put, we wouldn't have anything to be sad about right now.
Alex: Leaving the zoo was the best thing that ever happened to us.
Marty: Really?
Alex: Yeah. Out there, in the world, we were really living.
Julien: Yeah!
Alex: It was exciting!
Gloria: It was romantic.
Melman: It was dangerous.
Marty: I never felt so alive!
Alex: When we were with the circus, we were already home. I only wish we'd realized that sooner.
Melman: I'm really going to miss those guys.
Alex: What do you say we go back?
Gloria: Really?
Marty: I'm with you!
Julien: I'm in!
Melman: But what do we tell them?
Alex: Well, we make it right by telling them how wrong we were.
Marty: It's worth a shot.
Alex: [mimicking Vitaly] And if we go down in flames, so be it!!
[Alex then gets shot by a tranquilizer dart.]
Gloria: Yes, let's do this!
Julien: I like it!
Marty: Yeah, yeah!
[the rest of the group get shot with tranquilizer darts.]
Melman: [woozy] Is my neck getting longer?
Alex: [woozy] Feel my fur. It's so soft.
Gloria: [woozy] It is soft.
Marty: [woozy] I'm like a candy cane in a black-and-white movie.
Alex: [woozy] Oh, no. [Plucks out the dart before he falls unconsious.] DuBois.
Julien: [woozy] Sonya, I miss you, baby! I miss my stinky bear! Babe... your fishy kisses!
DuBois: Surprise! [DuBois meassures Alex's head.] He will never fit in the carry-on. But his head will! [evil laughter]
Zookeeper #1: Hey!
DuBois: Qu'est-ce que c'est?
Zookeeper #1: Look! Look what she's done! You brought back Alex the lion!
Zookeeper #2: It's a miracle!
Zookeeper #3: You brought him home! You’re our hero!
Zookeeper #1: Thank you! Thank you!
[Gia, Vitaly, and Stefano hang their heads missing the Zoosters when Julien staggers in]
Julien: [woozy] Sonya, baby! I don't wanna be king anymore. What really matters is what we smell like together! Baby, forgive me?
[Sonya places Julien in her mouth]
Julien: [woozy] Whoa, hello?
Kowalski: [grabs a tranquilizer dart from Julien's tail] Gasp! It's DuBois!
Skipper: Baba-booey! [turns to Julien] Where'd you get this?
Julien: [woozy] I got it from the zoo!
Skipper: The hippies got ambushed!
Gia: What? We have to help them!
Esmeralda: But they lied to us.
Jonesy: Yeah, why should we lend a paw?
Gia: They are our friends!
Jonesy: They're not even circus.
Vitaly: That's Bolshevik!
[The dogs whimper in shame]
Skipper: I'd never thought I'd say this on American soil, but... the Russki's right!
[Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman wake up back in their zoo enclosures]
Alex: Oh, no.
Marty: Alex? Where are you?
Gloria: What is happening?
Melman: Gloria, are you okay?
Mayor: The king of New York City...
Marty: Alex!
Alex: No, no, no!
Mayor: ...Alex the Lion!
[Alex runs onto his cement rock; the crowd cheers outside his enclosure. Alex turns and looks at Marty, Gloria and Melman]
Mayor: Thank you, thank you all for coming to this special celebration. And now, the woman who made this all possible, who brought Alex the Lion and a couple of... three? Three other animals back to New York, and she's French. Ooh-la-lah. Please welcome Chantel DuBois!
[Walking onto the stage, DuBois smirks at Alex. His eyes widen. DuBois steps behind the podium, her Animal Control officers standing at attention behind her. The mayor presents DuBois with an oversized check for a million dollars. She rips the check in half, then drops it to the ground. Looking downward, DuBois opens a small briefcase, then pulls out a dart with a skull and crossbones on it.]
Marty: Alex?
[Alex watches in horror as DuBois picks up the poison dart, drops it into her gun, then places the gun inside a giant foam hand. She taps the microphone.]
DuBois: It was never about the money. It was about... [she holds up the foam hand] ...the lion.
[DuBois points the hand at Alex, who raises his arms. DuBois fires the dart toward Alex, then suddenly Gia swings in and pulls him out of the way, causing the dart to hit a streetlamp.]
Alex: Gia?
Gia: Circus stick together.
[Alex beams]
DuBois: [Last words] If I am goin' down, your head is coming with me!
Alex: I don't think so! [whistles]
Jonesy: Oi, Let's go! [he and Frankie blast off]
Alex: You're going down, but not with my head! [the dogs pick Alex up and blast up before he lands in the penguin habitat]
Stefano: Jet pack, he pull up!
Alex: Your days of chasing animals are over, DuBois, because you just messed with the KING! [throws DuBois to his caged habitat and DuBois roars angrily over her defeat, as the spectators cheer.] This is where animals like you belong! Now sit! [DuBois gets shot in the butt with a dart. She falls to her knees.] Lie down. [DuBois lies down, revealing Maurice and Mort; Mort is holding the gun]
Mort: [laughs] Naughty me!
Alex: Roll over. [DuBois rolls over off the rock] Good DuBois. Now stay!
Gia: We did it!
[Gia and Alex smiles]
Stefano: Balloons to the children of the world! Trapeze Americano!
Vitaly: It is real.
Stefano: It's real!
Maurice: That's how you do it!
Stefano: So, you want to run away with the circus?
Alex: Live a life of adventure?
Gloria: Full of romance?
Melman: And danger!
Marty: Really living!
Stefano: What do you say?
Marty: [singing] Ra da da-da-da-da da circus! Da da da-da-da-da-da da Afro circus! Afro circus! Afro! Polka-dot, polka-dot, polka-dot Afro!
[Marty and Julien do their mash-up dance routine with "I Like To Move It" and "Afro Circus" while Gloria, Melman, Alex, and the circus animals celebrate their victory.]
