Main page

Imposter account here and elsewhere

I thank you for blocking the vandal account Kalkī4 (talk · contributions) which was impersonating me, here and at Meta, prior to it's global block — but a page remained at Meta in which that account claimed to be me, and it showed up on the vandal's user talk page here and any other wiki, including a few others it also vandalized. I believe this false message was probably the reason I was recently blocked at Wikipedia for "abusing multiple accounts." I have just removed that message claiming to be me at Meta, and replaced it with "There was a false message here by an impersonating vandal which has now been removed." I will probably now soon attend to the problem of the block at Wikipedia, and hope that this mistaken block can then be rapidly recognized and corrected. ~ ♞☤☮♌︎Kalki ⚚⚓︎⊙☳☶⚡ 07:14, 3 July 2026 (UTC)

VFD outcome

Let me start by saying I am not really strongly advocating for the page to remain (it's a minor Charlie Brown cartoon, so I'm not broken up by it being gone), but I am a bit concerned by the fact that in the end, there was hardly consensus for its deletion. I count 2 Keeps and 3 Deletes. To me that seems more like a Keep due to lack of consensus to delete. It has always been our practice here to be conservative when it comes to deleting a page - meaning that there is a clear consensus one way or the other. I'm not so worried about this page as I am about the precedent it sets when there are so few people involved and such a slim difference between Keeps and Deletes. I have read your message, and I think that might have been the wrong decision I made. However, I decided to use a different approach after that VFD. From now on, if there are five votes—three for deleting and the rest for keeping—this would mean no consensus. But if there are six votes, four for deletion and two for keeping, this would be considered valid consensus for deletion. Codename Noreste (talk • contribs) 12:48, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

Got it. I find that it's always better to be cautious with deleting a page, especially if there are not many people involved in the discussion to do so. But your revised methodology looks better as it incorporates more of a consensus. Thanks. ~ UDScott (talk) 12:59, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
