I agree the image you added was preferable to its extremely ridiculous and noxious replacement[edit]

Don't ever become a pessimist … a pessimist is correct oftener than an optimist, but an optimist has more fun, and neither can stop the march of events. ~ Robert A. Heinlein

As you might be aware your generally witty addition of the image which you and I both find as quite appropriate to the page on Optimism has been removed and replaced with what I believe to be an extremely asinine assertion against optimism by Oswald Spengler: "Optimism is cowardice." I believe neither image is ideal to head the page, and could accept both being upon it, but that the one you added is far worthier for the page than an image of Spengler. I moved the image which used the noxious quote of Spengler to a lower level and replaced it with an image relating to a quote of James Branch Cabell which had long existed on the page.

Most of the images which exist on pages here have long been used to emphasize certain quotes, and one I think might be appropriate to that image is the one I have added to it here by Robert A. Heinlein. I think the image and the quote go together well, as the flow of events in this case relates to the flows of lava, and the general humor of hope of transcending a burdensome situation. Yet, I am refraining from re-adding that image myself to the page at this time, with such an appropriate quote, because currently a few people have been attempting to promote what I hold to be the quite asinine assumptions that images should not be used here unless they are of the author of the quote, or already "notable-in-themselves" because of some form of fame of the image, rather than simply being relevant to the subject of the quote with which they are used. Images that I believe most people who are not mentally, morally and imaginatively constipated can usually find quite appropriate, relevant and interesting have recently been objected to, replaced or simply removed in what I consider a promotion of certain forms of dullness, ignorance and stupidity. I personally find such stances as have been promoted by some not merely ridiculously absurd, but actually contemptibly presumptive in ways I have not had time to fully elaborate upon as yet. I hope to have time to do so soon, but remain engaged in many other activities at present and expect that sufficient arguments will take more time than I have currently had. I hope that in the future you can and will take interest in examining the issue, and promoting a greater sense of good judgement against what I perceive to be some efforts to impose very poor judgement upon the character of this wiki. As I stated, I expect this might take quite a bit of time, but many worthy things do. I hope you will find this project worthy of greater interest in the future. So it goes Blessings. ~ Kalki·· 03:38, 23 December 2016 (UTC) + tweaks[reply]

Thanks for restoring the image. I knew I did not have much time to get into any contentions about it right now, but do support your decision to once again restore it, and will continue to do so to any extent necessary and to the extent I have the time, in coming days. I myself expect to be very busy at least another week, and not have much time to observe and study many matters here for at least a few days. I am only briefly checking in right now, and will soon have to leave, but will state whichever you might celebrate, may you have many Happy Holidays! ~ Kalki·· 12:14, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
