WPR

[edit]

Hey Jaxl:

I don't know if you're a userbox fanatic like I am, but I created a quick little one (in code, not a template, I hate userbox templates) for WPR and I thought you might like it. The code is:

<tr><td>{{userbox||#FFFFFF|[[Image:WPR Logo.png|35px]]|This user is a member of
[[Wikiquote:WikiProject Policy Revision|'''WikiProject Policy Revision'''.]]}}</td></tr>

and produces:

Enjoy! -- Essjay · Talk 12:19, 9 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! (Ah, now I see why mine didn't work...) -- Jaxl 14:37, 9 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have a question for you: I've switched from using the project logo Image:WPR Logo.png to using the regular Wikiquote logo Image:Wikiquote-logo.svg in order to avoid using unsanctioned derivatives (there is quite a bit of concern within the Foundation about images that use the copyrighted Foundation logos without permission, like the project logo.) I've changed my userbox to refelct this, could I persuade you to do the same? Essjay TalkContact 19:03, 9 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Done. Jaxl 00:23, 10 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Stop vandalizing.

[edit]

??????

I'm not the one vandalizing. You are. Stop trying to blame me for your mistakes. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.170.86.111 (talk • contribs) , in response to a {{test4}} warning after they vandalized Star Fox: Assault. -- Jaxl 00:20, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I already told you the vandalism was not mine. If you can prove that I was the one vandalizing, then I will acknowledge it. Thank you.--68.170.86.111 01:56, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I was not vandalising, I was improving information, and further more you vandalized to!--68.170.86.111 02:25, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

"I was improving information"

Posting "I AM REALLY GAY!!!!!!!!!" is not exactly what one would regard as improvement.

"and further more you vandalized to!"

No, I repeatedly fixed your vandalizations, which you have now just admitted to. It's obvious you are simply trying to annoy me, because you are fully aware of what you did. Unless you stop, you will be blocked. -- Jaxl 04:24, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

After verifying that 68.170.86.111 was indeed vandalizing the article as you stated, falsely accusing you of doing vandalism, and removing appropriate warning messages from that address's talk page, I have blocked this address from editing for a week and posted a notice to this effect on that talk page. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 04:58, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nomination for administrator

[edit]

With the recent unpleasantness from 68.170.86.111, I realized that no one seems to have asked you yet if you wish to become a Wikiquote administrator. Given your 3-month, 500-edit record of consistent cleanup, anti-vandal, and other maintenance work, as well as the fact that you are already an experienced Wikipedia admin (in line for the "most reverted admin" award, no less!), this appears to be a gross oversight on our part. I would be happy to nominate you if you are interested. (Of course, it might encourage our apoplectic anon to spread more unfounded salacious rumors, but that's a chance I'm willing to take. ☺) ~ Jeff Q (talk) 07:40, 22 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

regarding Wikiquote:What Wikiquote is not/Draft

[edit]

Sorry, I didn't realize the draft was "stale". Perhaps it should be removed? --TravisM 00:05, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome patrol

[edit]

Thanks for joining in the welcome patrol. I started doing this myself last month because, besides being neighborly, I believe it helps us reduce many of the common problems and misperceptions that we've been running into. With something like 500-700 new registered users a month, I really appreciate the assistance! ~ Jeff Q (talk) 05:19, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sure, glad to help! -- Robert 16:02, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for swiftly blocking the "KaIki" imposter earlier. I had been napping and just now noticed the name in the logs after making a few edits. ~ Kalki 17:51, 7 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

No problem. -- Robert 01:02, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
