I kind of do it as standard practice to make sure people have people have access to the help links. I sometimes find these standard templates a bit "smarmy" as over-the-top-friendly as half the time I find I'm having to send their article into a deletion process or issue some other form of warning (that doesn't seem to apply in your case).
