Poor quality edits[edit]

User:RYSHR, contributions to Wikiquote are appreciated, but poor quality additions only make more work for other editors. The vast majority of your contributions do not meet Wikiquote's standards, for the following reasons:

  • No source provided (author is not enough; title and publication date are required, please include page number when possible.
  • When quoting from translations, the quality of translations is important. Please quote from published translations when available. When no published translations are available, it is sometimes acceptable to translate, but original language text must be provided and translations must be high quality and must be checked by other editors.
  • On theme pages, standard for relevance is that quotation must provide reader with new and interesting information or perspective on article topic. Mere mention of the word does not merit inclusion.
  • On theme pages, standard for notability is higher. Usually marginally notable figures are not included.
  • I am not sure what your intent was in distributing so many quotations from one author on theme pages, but did you ask first (1) if the translations were of adequate quality to merit this wide dissemination, (2) if the notability of the author was sufficient, and (3) if the quotations provided new and interesting information on theme topics, not just mention of the word?

Having said this, there are a few edits that meet Wikiquote quality standards. I hope you will not be discouraged and will continue to make high quality contributions to the project. ~ Peter1c (talk) 23:13, 2 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
