I think that's a great idea! -- Cirt (talk) 00:15, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your work to trim this bloated page is appreciated, but I just wanted to point out that actually 5 quotes per episode are acceptable rather than the 4 you are trimming them down to. Per WQ:LOQ an hour-long show (and for the purposes of this calculation "The length of a program includes its commercials, or, for ad-free networks such as PBS or BBC, includes the length of advertising were it to exist.) may have up to 5 quotes per episode. Thanks! ~ UDScott (talk) 13:38, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hang out a bit, get more active, participate in WQ:VP discussions, and WQ:VFD discussions. Then, we can revisit. :) -- Cirt (talk) 16:57, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Probably. -- Cirt (talk) 17:46, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the deletion of Ujjwal Patni[edit]

Dear contributor,

Greetings

I am quite new to Wikiquote. If you feel that this page is of promotional nature, i would request you to help me to bring it in a better shape. Ujjwal patni is notable but the people like us working on this page are not experienced. I felt that his thoughts must reach across the world so i genuinely added the page numbers and book titles to make it more authentic. I never thought to create a promotional page. Please guide and mentor me so that i can create a genuine page.

Altering user pages[edit]

Please do not go round altering user pages. The template you used clearly states that it should only be used by the administrator placing the block. Since the administrator chose not to use that template, it is not up to you to do so. I do not believe that you are an administrator.--Collingwood (talk) 20:40, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, wrong, incorrect, Tryst (talk · contributions), please feel free to tag blocked socks as blocked socks, as that is what they are. Thank you, -- Cirt (talk) 17:46, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It might be more appropriate to use the {{Sockpuppet}} template (though some of the css from Wikipedia is missing here), and to note that the {{Sockpuppeteer}} is a Globally Banned user. ~ Ningauble (talk) 19:47, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I will do that in the future. The templates I used allowed me to specify that Poetlister is globally banned. --Tryst (talk) 19:54, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

OK, no argument about Antony and Cleopatra, but I do think these sentimental nineteenth-century images that are now all over WQ do apply a POV, and are completely un-Shakespearian besides. At the moment a lot of WQ looks as if it had been decorated according to the tastes of 1835. That can't be right, I hope! Macspaunday (talk) 02:32, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Question.[edit]

Why are you unlinking links to works, as you did here? I don't recall a consensus for such a change, much less a bot-assisted change. BD2412 T 20:26, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think in that case it is ok to link only the first of several consecutive quotations from the same work. However, I have been reverting several other link removals that, IMO, really ought not to have been done under the rubric of "minor fixes" using AWB.

It has taken me days to make enough time to review this burst of high-volume, high-speed edits. It might be wise, and would certainly be a kindness, to try this sort of thing gradually to test consensus before plunging ahead with AWB. ~ Ningauble (talk) 14:39, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think the way to test consensus is to go to the Village Pump. I was not aware of this until today, and would certainly have opposed this unlinking if asked.--Collingwood (talk) 20:22, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
