Report vandalismVotes for deletion

This page exists to post alerts about any incidents of vandalism that are occurring, so that other users and administrators can more promptly respond to them. Wikiquote's definition of vandalism is the same as Wikipedia's and can be seen at w:Wikipedia:Vandalism.

Care should be taken before assuming an initial contribution is vandalism unless it's blatantly obvious the user knows what they're doing.

If the vandal is known to attack more then one language, or more then one Wikimedia wiki, it is recommended they also be noted on Vandalism reports in Meta or a global block be requested on Steward requests/Global.

Adding reports[edit]

Please report vandalism by creating a new report by clicking one of the two buttons below. Be sure to include the username/IP address and the behavior that requires admin intervention.

Filing a false report and feeble excuses in an attempt to evade an inevitable block. DawgDeputy (talk) 20:00, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[]

Seems like he did a dumb joke but I don't think this is indicative of future vandalism. Seems fairly one-off. I say let sleeping dogs lie. —Justin (koavf)TCM 02:20, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[]

They made a page called Our law is your law which just has a YouTube link and no quotes in general. I say let them off with a warning and if anything bad happens subsequently, you block 'em! 17:58, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[]

Just said welcome. I don't think more action is needed but that page was obviously inappropriate. Thanks. —Justin (koavf)TCM 18:31, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[]

New report 2021-02-17, 23:07[edit]

@Saroj Uprety:

In its feeble attempts to assist everyone here against vandalism, it only adds to the problem by redoing vandalism, re-adding quotes in direct violation of quote limits, making a mockery out of me, unruly calling akko a bot without any evidence, false (and somehow personal) threats against another vandal (even sending such threats to a vandal is vandalism), etc. It has learned nothing from its previous block. I request immediate action be taken against this IP before it strikes again. DawgDeputy (talk) 23:17, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[]

Persistent vandalism. Hasley (talk) 02:22, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[]

@Saroj Uprety:

A long history of problematic edits and ignoring rules, and in trying to undo vandalism (or so he egregiously claims), he continuously adds to the problem, and mocks those who undo his edits. He constantly claims he would never add unnecessary emphasis to quotes again, but he constantly breaks that promise without any remorse (besides, he should never have vandalized to begin with). And fellow user Eaglestorm (a longtime model editor) will back me up on this one. I request this user be blocked for good and is denied access to talk pages. Repeated vandalism. Daniuu (talk) 21:18, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[]

This is a content dispute but not vandalism. It's valid to write "NOOOO!" versus "No!". This should be discussed on talk and only constitutes admin action to the extent that it's edit-warring. That said, if you're going to submit his actions as edit-warring, I would think twice if I were you because edit wars generally involve more than one editor... —Justin (koavf)TCM 04:21, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[]

Barnstar given under false pretenses...[edit]

Christian M. (2016) recently received a "barnstar" from a vandal/troll who was clearly trying to spread its ridiculous agenda all over Wikiquote (illegally). New report 2021-09-5, 02:21[edit]

False threats, false reports (which will inevitably be ignored by authorities), lack of remorse for its heinous actions, illegal/unauthorized creation of an unwanted user page (requesting infinite protection from creation by anyone but myself or admins), the whole nine yards. This IP's edits have to be struck from the record completely, as if the IP's edits never existed.

This is why only registered users should be allowed edit on Wikimedia. Vandals need to stop taking advantage of using IP addresses. DawgDeputy (talk) 03:04, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[]

New report 2021-09-7, 22:50[edit]

The Total Drama vandal wants the protection on the pages removed, but that just proves it wants to vandalize those pages again. It claims it will change, but that is what many vandals before it said, and none of them were given a chance. Another sockpuppet of Evilasio DP. Jr2. New report 2021-09-20, 15:59[edit]

Filing a false report against me, edit-warring, taunting vandals (especially by illegally signing administrators' names), administrators names and false legal threats, and in general, learning absolutely nothing from its previous blocks. Requesting infinite global blocking, and denial of talk page access. DawgDeputy (talk) 16:02, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[]

Blocked for a month. --Aphaia (talk) 18:16, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[]
I also recommend this IP be denied talk page access for that same time period. DawgDeputy (talk) 18:27, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[]
DawgDeputy, I just thought I'd comment that infinite global blocks are never done. There is basically no cross-wikiness in this vandalism, it is basically only on Wikiquote, apart from a bit of vandalism a few months ago on Simple Wikipedia (see w:simple:User talk:, so there is no need to globally block, let alone do that infinitely. --Ferien (talk) 20:01, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[]
I understand, but this vandal continued after its previous blocks here on Wikiquote at least twice, and considering its problematic, inexcusable behavior all over Wikimedia, there is no doubt the vandal will continue when this block is over. I also request indefinite protection of Schoolhouse Rock! to prevent further edit wars from this IP. DawgDeputy (talk) 22:02, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[]
This user clearly wants no one to tell the difference between a radio affiliate and a television affiliate (among other sorts of affiliates). Deny this vandal talk page access during its block (and all of its future blocks). DawgDeputy (talk) 22:35, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[]

New report 2021-09-21, 23:07[edit]

Back to vandalize again. Considering this user's high level of vandalism, blocking it for any less than six months is not going to stop it. DawgDeputy (talk) 23:08, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[]
