Special:Contributions/198.237.49.220 continue vandalism on this talk page. Tomybrz (talk) 17:54, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Several vandalistic edits on Disney films[edit]

For example, Special:Contributions/96.4.107.9 vandalizes numerous Disney films, particularly Pixar films, such as adding irrelevant cast members, non-existent lines, actions that include no dialogue, incomplete quotes, etc. I request all films it vandalized be protected and the IP be blocked for a long period of time. Plus, Toy Story 3 had another vandal with the same MO. Same request of action to be taken against this IP. WikiLubber (talk) 20:36, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Y Done, vandal blocked Miszatomic (talk) 21:57, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
One week while others pages are left unprotected is not going to stop this vandal. WikiLubber (talk) 23:40, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I protected a few of the pages indicated for 6 months, because they clearly had recently been vandalized, but not clearly by that IP. I did not actually encounter any edits which I could clearly discern as vandalism from the IP 96.4.107.9 in my scanning of some of the most recent edits. I don’t have much more time to spend here right now, so I was noting this when the above block occurred. I was going to leave other pages as they are, and this IP unblocked, but IF there are actually very clear cases of vandalism, and not merely differences in editorial preferences, I can let the block stand, otherwise, I actually do not yet see any clear reason to block this IP. ~ Kalki·· 22:05, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Adding the names of non-existent characters and/or characters from non-Disney/Pixar-related projects and changing lines to include these nonsensical names is clearly vandalism. WikiLubber (talk) 23:42, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And not to mention, in Rugrats, it inexplicably changed Tommy's name to "Jim", a character who never existed in that series. I request that its blocked be expanded from one week to no less than one year. WikiLubber (talk) 23:50, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If these reports are indeed the case, and this is deliberate vandalism, a 6 months-long block of this IP might be appropriate, but many of the edits of this IP which I scanned were not clearly vandalism, and some seemed to be reverting less subtle vandalism. I am not well-acquainted with many of the intricacies of most of these films, and some hardly at all, and thus cannot presume that such changes are vandalism without much greater familiarity with the films than I currently have, which I am not likely to acquire any time soon, if ever. The week long block currently in place can suffice for now. ~ Kalki·· 23:59, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The IPs non-vandalism edits are meaningless, because that edit in Rugrats, among the other edits I mentioned, was blatant vandalism without explanation, and therefore, calls for long-term blocking. And while we are on the subject, the same anonymous IP vandal who has been vandalizing the Toy Story films with nonsense quotes is taking its actions out on the Shrek franchise. I request this vandal be blocked for at least a year (because that was blatant vandalism with no remorse, which calls for a blocking of no less than a year), and more importantly, that all Shrek and Toy Story-related pages and our talk pages (because I know they will rub their vandalism in our faces, claiming their actions were "funny") be protected for no less than a year. WikiLubber (talk) 00:22, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Y Done, pages protected.Miszatomic (talk) 08:28, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not just the film, but Rugrats the TV series itself, too. And the same goes for the Toy Story films (all three of them (soon to be four)). And two weeks will not do any good. I recommend no less than a year. WikiLubber (talk) 15:24, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Akhiljaxxn political censorship of quotes about Congress politicians[edit]

He has refused to discuss his removals on the talkpage despite being asked to do so.

These are the latest quotes he deleted:

  • People of India have seen obstacles of past 55 years and they have seen optimism of our 55 months. They have seen 55 years of Family First and 55 months of India First. ... We stand for democracy, they stand for dynasty, we stand for India First, they stand for Family First.
  • This is why it has been so astonishingly easy for the Gandhi dynasty to turn India’s oldest political party into a family firm. And once dynastic succession became acceptable at the highest levels of political power, it became impossible to prevent dynastic democracy spreading like a slow poison into the very soul of India. ... India’s ‘tryst with destiny’ could more appropriately have been called India’s tryst with dynasty.
    • Singh, Tavleen (2016). India's broken tryst. Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India : HarperCollins Publishers India, 2016.
  • Dynasty, a political tool in the hands of the ruling class, has become the catalyst for a new colonization of a country whose soul has already been deeply scarred by centuries of it.
    • Singh, Tavleen (2017). Durbar.

These quotes were deleted from the article Indian National Congress, here and here and later from the article on the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty[8] [9].

  • To the AdminsThis user has been adding lots of statements as quotes to his political opponent's pages like you can see here and here. he is using wiki quotes as a tool to spread the message of RSS, an Indian right-wing, Hindu nationalist, paramilitary volunteer organisation. The user is also using this site to promote his hatred against other religions as well 1, 2, 3, 5. As an admin of Malayalam Wikipedia i"m well aware of these peoples editing behaviors. There are lots of Wikipedians including admins are attacked by their 1, 2, 3, 4 mouthpiece called OpIndia And Swarajy(these two are blacklisted by the Wikipedia). Akhiljaxxn (talk) 17:36, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So you just continue with your personal attacks despite being asked to stop making personal attacks? We are not discussing Malayalam Wikipedia or English wikipedia here. Also, how are quotes about anti-Christian and anti-Hindu discrimination a "promotion of hatred"?
You seem to be saying that you will continue with your edit-warring and your removal of quotes "critical" of Congress politicians, while of course quotes "critical" about your political opponents and/or about Narendra Modi, the BJP, Donald Trump, Joe Biden, or whoever else you might dislike, can stay. These pages of politicians like Donald Trump or Joe Biden have many critical quotes. If you think there is a neutrality problem on any of them, the solution is to add quotes with a different pov. --დამოკიდებულება (talk) 19:39, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have also in my last message to him said I will help him solve any issues. I told him: "Akhiljaxxn, if you have a concern about neutrality, if that is your concern, then selected quotes can be added to achieve neutrality. Please let me know if I can help you in doing that. " But he has not yet replied on any of the article talkpages. --დამოკიდებულება (talk) 23:18, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Besides you, who else warned him? DawgDeputy (talk) 22:28, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
He has deleted my talk page discussions, but since the user seems to have much experience also at other wikipedias, so assuming that he is aware that personal attacks of the kind that he has shown should not be made here (or anywhere else!) is probably correct assumption. --დამოკიდებულება (talk) 22:45, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Like every other user, he has every right to remove anything from his talk page. And you were the only one ever sending him messages. Nevertheless, his point stands. DawgDeputy (talk) 22:49, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Which point? The only point he has made above are personal attacks (that I have asked him to stop because it wasn't his first time doing this). The only other point he made above is making personal attacks also against some others at other wikipedias (not only me).
I do not enjoy getting these personal attacks, that is why I have asked him to stop doing it. --დამოკიდებულება (talk) 22:51, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiquote should be free from politics and religions. ALL quotes of notable people are welcome. We do have quotes of Hitler, for example, 'though many dislike 'em, but those are important to read to understand our history.--Vilho-Veli (talk) 00:53, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Despite multiple warnings, the user continues to add content citing their mouthpiece which is blacklisted by Wikipedia 1, 2, 3. Akhiljaxxn (talk) 08:05, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mouthpiece would mean that I control what gets published there. Since I don't have that control, this is another veiled personal attack on my alleged political views. Swarajya is not blacklisted on wikiquote, proof is that you were able to post links to the website. If it was blacklisted, you wouldn't have been able to do that! I already told you that! Swaraya seems to have been censored (temporarily?) either due to political bias or because as your links you posted show it may have published some articles critical of wikipedia. But what is censored on other websites has no bearing on this website. The deletions you made were either cases were the original source was something else and it is was only quoted from there, or where the quote is from an eminent politican like Swamy. Swarajya has made some interviews with very eminent politicians, intellectuals and scientists, and there is no reason not to quote these very eminent people from their own interviews. --დამოკიდებულება (talk) 09:51, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Admins, please have a look at the contribution of this above user and my comments above. The user has no idea about what is quotes and what cannot be used as quotes here. I don't know if I should take this issue to meta because I doubt this user uses multiple accounts on other Wikipedia also. The user exclusively edited Wikiquote by using this account, and every time he creates a new page like you can see here, here and here, one different user (User: Vilho-Veli) adding the links of those pages to its Wikipedia pages 1, 2, 3. I suspect either these two users are related nor the user may be blocked for socking on English Wikipedia in the past. That's why he does not edit Wikipedia by using this account. There is a lot of similarity in the account creation times 1, and their contribution 1, 2 of these two users. Akhiljaxxn (talk) 11:18, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Vilho-Veli, as every admin knows (since he is very active here), is doing a lot of work here on wikiquote on ALL articles, not just the articles I'm editing. I'm not active on wikipedia (and either way, wikipedia is a different website so it is irrelevant what I do on a different website, which as I said is nothing). Is this another veiled personal attack? --დამოკიდებულება (talk) 11:27, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New report 2020-06-7[edit]

The user keeps inserting a fabricated quote in a top level article at Muhammad. I have explained on the talkpage that the quote is by Bhai Bala, whose existence is disputed and whose writings are considered to be fabrications. At most, it could be moved to the Misattributed section, but it is not notable enough for this top level article.

The user keeps reinserting the quote without discussing on the talkpage.

I don't want to edit war and this is a top level article, so it needs attention from admins. დამოკიდებულება (talk) 19:49, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please ban User:დამოკიდებულება he keeps on removing sourced content. Also this is attributed to Guru Nanak as proven by the source here: [15] —This unsigned comment is by Indrooooz (talkcontribs) .

@Indrooooz: It seems like this issue of misattribution has already been covered at the article's talk page. As per my observations, the quote you're adding has been falsely attributed to Guru Nanak, and left without a source. It'd be best to leave this to discussion rather than edit warring. dibbydib⌐■_■ (barate me) 05:19, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:Dibbydib, please see my most recent comment in the talk page. If you look at the source it clearly states that Guru Nanak is being quoted within Bhai Bala. It is not fake. Indrooooz (talk) 20:29, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm coming to this a little late, but I'm looking thru დამოკიდებულება's edits and they seem very sensible. For that matter, this edit by Indrooooz includes some sensible changes, such as removing links to a wiki but also reinserts this spurious quotation from someone at Dhaka University with no actual attestation that anyone else can verify. This is a content dispute that got heated and I don't think merits blocking anyone as of yet but I am reverting to the last edit by დამოკიდებულება and protecting the page for awhile to encourage you two to post to talk. Please do so in a calm manner and ping me if you need me. —Justin (koavf)TCM 06:47, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Koavf, sikhiwiki is not a reliable source as per WP:RS. Also, this quote is from Guru Nanak. See the actual source here [[16]. On page 8 it clearly says Nanak is being quoted here. Indrooooz (talk) 20:14, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Indrooooz: I don't know why you are telling me this: I just wrote "Indrooooz did a good job by removing that wiki". It is good that Indroooz has started using the talkpage now. I have replied to Indrooz there. @Koavf:, the quote which was moved to talk here should be removed from the article because it clearly is offtopic and is about Muslims and not about Muhammad. This was already moved to the talkpage, but it was also reverted by Indrooz here.--დამოკიდებულება (talk) 08:59, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New report 2020-06-8[edit]

Xsaorapa keeps spamming dozens of articles with fact templates (to SOURCED quotes), copyright templates (without giving any evidence, proof and explanation on the talkpage as to why he thinks it is a violation, and which quote is a violation), and the NPOV templates (without explaining on the talkpage why he added it).

Some days ago, Xsaorapa has used a sock to give instructions to his meatpuppet (User:Pratap Pandit), who did exactly the same, but now the meatpuppet master is continuing the same. The way this is done is highly disruptive.

This is part of the history of personal attacks, harassment, hounding, stalking, intimidation and edit-warring, and of spreading false and misleading claims and outright lies, of this user. დამოკიდებულება (talk) 09:09, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Though this is not appropriate to warrant vandalism, I suggest moving discussion to the administrator's noticeboard. For the editors involved, don't fight fire with fire. dibbydib⌐■_■ (barate me) 07:35, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There are several issues here. First, this is not done in good faith, but is part of a history of personal attacks, harassment, hounding, stalking and intimidation.

Here is a timeline of the past few days:

  1. On 16 May, Xsaorapa started giving meatpuppet instructions to User Pratap Pandit by using his sockpuppet User Sunfee over email and/or little used talkpages
  2. On 18 May, Pratap started mass templating articles edited by me or other users, which other users have called harassment. The first case was at Talk:Rajendran Narayanan.
  3. On 27 May, the meatpuppetry and sockpuppetry got exposed
  4. On 5 June, the meatpuppet master (Xsaorapa) took over from Pratap and started exactly the same mass templating that his meatpuppet Pratap did just some days before.

This is just plain harassment, hounding, stalking and intimidation. Maybe 80 percent of all quotes on WQ don't have entirely complete citations ("by preference", a complete citation should include Edition number, ISBN number, page number and other details) but they have sufficient details (Author, title of the book, year of publication,....). But Xsaorapa is very selective and only complains the users he is stalking. The meatpuppet did the same. "by preference" does not mean "mandatory".

Secondly, as I explained on Xsaorapa's talkpage (but he deleted it), this is not the right way to it.

Template:Fact is only for quotes with UNSOURCED statements. This tag will categorise tagged articles into Category:Articles with unsourced statements

But the templates were spammed to SOURCED quotes. All of the quotes are properly sourced, in conformity with the standards at wikiquote. There is no policy that says that the quotes are sourced wrongly. Wikiquote:Templates/People says that a citation should include author, co-authors and title (there are "optional clarifications").

I asked him to use the talkpage instead. If there is a genuine reason in good faith, he should simply state on the talkpage which quotation and book should be checked. (I have also started improving some of the citations). --დამოკიდებულება (talk) 11:30, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@დამოკიდებულება: You will make your case much better if you provide very pithy posts with directly relevant diffs. E.g. "User:x posted fact templates to sourced articles: [diff 1], [diff 2], [diff 3]." and that's it. Long posts with ALL CAPS SHOUTING and bold emphasis in the middle and no links to any actual malfeasance are not as compelling. —Justin (koavf)TCM 17:58, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for the formatting issues. I was copying text from his talkpage and other places, in which discussions I had to repeat obvious things.

Xsaorapa has been spamming spurious tags always with no rationale:

  • Spamming of fact template: for example here despite the fact that page numbers are included. Many more examples see his contributions starting from June 8 here.
    • As explained above, this is the wrong template for sourced quotes, the talkpage should be used instead
  • Spamming of copyvio template (see his edits here starting on June 5)
    • He should explain on the talkpage and give some rationale/proof/evidence for the claim which he has not done even once
  • Spamming of npov template
    • He is spamming the article mostly to articles of cases of genocide or massacres against Hindus. Examples are articles about the Bangladesh War genocide [21], the Partition of India genocide, the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiris, and of various articles related to cases of Islamist intolerance or persecution. (See here, most articles were added by Xsaorapa).

This seems to imply that he is concerned about quotes in which Hindus are described as victims of genocide or massacres. If a nazi user would spam the npov template to the Holocaust and World War II articles because there are too many quotes about Jewish victims, he would probably get blocked. But the analogy is not far off. This is what human rights activist Benkin writes about this analogy:

This book contains quite a few references to Nazi Germany, and there is a tendency for many people to discount such comparisons because they are so overused and often in simplistic and inappropriate ways. I am no less tolerant of such facile uses of a horrific set of events; and I find their overuse an insult to the memories of the victims. But I am using it rather extensively in this book precisely because the parallel is appropriate, certainly in the similar end foreseen by Islamists for Bengali Hindus and Nazis for Jews. If that recognition awakens the world to action, then this will be one of the most important uses of the comparison since World War II.

Xsaorapa has been spamming spurious tags always with no rationale, he was offering no rationale at all, neither on the talk page, nor anywhere else. That is disruptive, and the tags should be removed as clearly unjustified, in the absence of any concrete issues or evidence and proof raised on the talkpage. --დამოკიდებუილება2 (talk) 11:13, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New report on DawgDeputy[edit]

I found evidence that he might (not for sure) be sockpuppeting and reported it to the Administrators' noticeboard. Instead of responding in a civil manner, he started to vandalize or remove my edits four times. Additionally, given his history of inappropriate behavior on Wikipedia at Wikipedia:User:DawgDeputy, I believe that a global block of at least one month is in order.

Edit: Look through his history, he is still deleting my edits instead of responding. At least a dozen times.

Edit 2: The fact that he is extremely hostile probably proves that he is sockpuppeting like I initially claimed

https://en.wikiquote.org/w/index.php?title=Wikiquote:Administrators%27_noticeboard&oldid=2820537#User:DawgDeputy's_potential_sockpuppetry

Evidence:

Although this is old sockpuppet evidence, I tried to submit it before and it was removed for some reason.

He also claimed he could ban me on my talkpage, though he's not an admin, and kept vandalizing:

@Koavf: For the record, I am completely innocent of all Ylevental's so-called "wrongdoings". TLPG and I are not the same person. We may both have the same ambitions, which is undoing unnecessary submissions, but we are clearly different people. DawgDeputy is the one and only account I use here. Plus, I looked through TLPG's edits, and there are a lot of edits he made that I would never do, such as submit to M*A*S*H (TV series). I know too little of that series. I never even made a major edit there (let alone any at all). Most of those other pages-- I only made edits to help prevent problematic edits. This case has been frivolous beyond frivolous from the very beginning. That is why I kept trying to delete Ylevental's false report. But it persistently continues to reinstate it without solid evidence. Plus, non-admins have every right to post a warning on a problematic user's talk page (even though blocking is up to an administrator), but unlike most users, this one does not seem to understand. DawgDeputy (talk) 22:52, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think User:Rupert loup should be blocked for a while. He keeps reverting and redirecting whole pages (e.g. Fatwa, Racism in the Arab world) and removes large parts of other pages without discussion (e.g. Joseph Goebbels, Hindu-Islamic relations). Maybe some content on the pages needs to be removed or improved, but this kind of extremely aggressive editing is disruptive. This sockpuppet IP consistently vandalizes Aladdin (1992 Disney film), and consistently lies about not doing it again. Plus, this IP tried to censor Snakes on a Plane without explanation. I request not only indefinite blocking, but revocation of editing talk pages. DawgDeputy (talk) 18:49, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This IP is clearly ignoring our messages like before. DawgDeputy (talk) 19:05, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I looked at several edits and they were actually constructive. I agree that the attempted censorship is not helpful and borderline vandalism (I don't think the intent is vandalism but the outcome is). Hence, indefinite block with talk page access revoked seems excessive. —Justin (koavf)TCM 20:11, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
But the edits to Aladdin (1992 Disney film) was anything but constructive. Those unnecessary cast members the IP added were nothing but a hinderance and add nothing to the article. It had been a problem for the past two months. I know this IP will hop to another and do it again, so I recommend long-term protection of that article. DawgDeputy (talk) 23:04, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not every bad edit is "vandalism". Censoring content is definitely vandalism in its outcome, if not its intent but adding extraneous cast members is not "vandalism". I'm happy to protect the article and I'm happy that you're patrolling these pages but choosing one edit out of several that were constructive and mischaracterizing it as vandalism is not useful. —Justin (koavf)TCM 23:21, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You have written several poorly-formatted reports that require myself or other admins to do more forensics than are necessary and you make some exceptional demands on us as well. While in general, you are helpful here, posting "[x] is a vandal" is not helpful unless it is obvious that all of his edits are vandalism. As of now, I don't see any vandalism and this IP has made over 100 edits.
