Onward (film)
Onward is a 2020 American 3D computer-animated urban fantasy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is about two elf twins (voices by Tom Holland and Chris Pratt) who set out on a quest to find a spell that will bring back their deceased father. It was released in theaters on March 6, 2020 which is a month after Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made and a week before Stargirl (both for Disney+).

Ian Lightfoot

- I had someone who looked out for me. Someone who pushed me to be more than I ever thought I could be. I never had a dad, but I always had you.

- All quests start with the Manticore, the fearless warrior.

- Growth spell! We grow the tin, and then the gas itself will grow with it.
- It worked! The tin is huge! And the van is huge! And your- [realizes he has been shrunk] Oh, no!
- There's a sweet blotch. Not in the middle not quite at the end.
- Oh, it's a giant greenish cube.
- [exclaims] My wallet's still tiny.

- I have a gift from your dad.
- He just said to give you this when you were both over sixteen.

- Oh, they went on a quest. But don't worry, I told them about the map, I told them about the gem, I told them about the curse- [gasps] I forgot to tell them about the curse!
- Your boys are in great danger!
Dialogue
[edit]- Laurel: [hurts her foot on one of Barley's figurines] Oh, my... Barley, keep your soldiers off my land, or our kingdom will go to war! [kicks it in his room]
- Barley: [from in his room] Sorry, Mom!
- Laurel: Oh, this is the world's longest gap year. Honey, I was gonna do that.
- Ian: That's okay.
- Laurel: Wow! You must have been taught by some kind of sewing master.
- Ian: Yeah. A very humble sewing master. What was Dad like when he was my age? Was he always super confident.
- Laurel: Oh, no. It took him a while to find out who he was.
- Ian: I wish I'd met him.
- Laurel: Oh, me too. But, hey, you know when your dad got sick, he fought so hard because he wanted to meet you more than anything. You know what? I have something for you. I was gonna wait until after cake, but I think you've waited long enough.
- Ian: [tries to make a can float with his staff] Aloft Elevar!
- Barley: No, from your heart's fire!
- Ian: Aloft Elevar!
- Barley: Don't hold back!
- Ian: Aloft Elevar!
- Barley: HEART'S FIRE!
- Ian: [frustrated] STOP SAYING, "HEART'S FIRE"! This just clearly isn't working.
- Barley: Hey, it was a good start.
- [After Ian and Barley got back from under in the sewer, they find out they're back near his high school in New Mushroomton at the near end of their quest.]
- Barley: It's okay? We can figure this out.
- Ian: Figure out what? We're back where we started.
- Barley: I mean, it has to be here. There was a gauntlet. I mean, unless that gauntlet was for, coincidentally, some different quest. That's a possibility.
- Ian: What?
- Barley: No, no, no. This has to be where the Phoenix Gem is. I followed my gut.
- Ian: Oh, no.
- Barley: What?
- Ian: The gem is in the mountain. The mountain we could have been to hours ago, if we'd just... stayed on the expressway.
- Barley: No, the expressway is too obvious. You can never take the obvious...
- Ian: [enraged] If I hadn't listened to you! OKAY?! I can't believe this. You act like you know what you're doing, but you don't have a clue! And that's because you are a screw-up. And now, you've screwed up my chance to have the ONE THING I'VE NEVER HAD!!
- [Barley, shocked and hurt, gasps softly at Ian's words, so is his dad. Ian turns his back on Barley and walks away with Dad.]
- Barley: Where are you going?
- Ian: [gives Barley his staff] To spend what little time we have left with Dad.
- Barley: Ian, wait! We can still find the Phoenix Gem! We just have to keep looking! Ian! IAN!
