This is a list of episodes in Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series, the twenty-fourth season of the Pokémon animated series (ポケットモンスター Poketto Monsutā?, Pocket Monsters), covering the adventures of series protagonist Ash Ketchum and his new travelling companion Goh as they travel around the Pokémon world, based at the Cerise Research Laboratory in Vermilion City in the Kanto region.

To Train, or Not to Train!

[edit]
[The title card comes up]
Ash, Goh & Chloe: (voiceover) To Train... (Chloe only) Or Not to Train!
[Goh and Chloe are walking to Vermilion City school on Goh's first day]
Goh: So how come you never try to catch Pokémon?
Chloe: I've got Yamper.
Goh: But I thought Yamper was your dad's Pokémon. I'm talking about a Pokémon who's your very own partner.
Chloe: I may never get one.
Goh: Why would you say something like that?!
Chloe: It feels like everybody decided I have to catch Pokémon simply because I'm a Professor's daughter. I kind of hate that.
Goh: Oh?
Chloe: It came up during an assignment I had about my dreams for the future.
Goh: Oh.... Okay. Sorry.
Chloe: Don't worry. Mom and I talked, and she said the day will come when I'll be able to decide for myself what path to take when it comes to Pokémon. So there's nothing to apologise for!
Teacher: (off camera) Goh! Chloe!
Chloe: Hmm?
Goh: Hmm?
[They turn back and see the teacher approaching them]
Teacher: Morning, you two!
Goh & Chloe: Good morning to you, too!
Goh: See, I told you I keep my promises!
Chloe: Promises?
Goh: I promised I'd always come to school when there's a test.
Teacher: Promises are there to be kept. Alright, see you in class! (Walks ahead)
Chloe: I didn't know you had an agreement.
Goh: I sure did.
Teacher: Oh! One thing! Make sure you remember to leave your Pokémon out in the garden.
Goh: (looks at Sobble) Right...
Sobble: Sobble?

[Ash and Pikachu arrive outside the school, out of breath]
Pikachu: Pika.
Ash: Oh man... Yamper's gone without a trace!
Pikachu: (exhausted) Pikachu.
[Ash sees the school]
Ash: Huh? Isn't that Chloe and Goh's school?
Pikachu: Pika?
[Meanwhile, Goh has gone outside the school building. He is looking on his Rotom phone when he sees Chloe]
Goh: What's the deal Chloe? (Puts away his Rotom Phone) Calling me out here during class...
Chloe: Shh!
[Yamper pokes his head out of the bush]
Yamper: Yamp.
Goh: Huh? It's Yamper. (Sees Eevee) Huh? Eevee?!
Chloe: (softly) Quiet! Shh! Shh, Shh!
Goh: (softly) Oh, sorry! What are you doing out here with an Eevee?
Chloe: You see...
Goh: Wow, Eevee is an amazing Pokemon who can evolve into one of eight different forms that have been discovered so far!
Chloe: (surprised) Eight different forms? That's so... amazing!
Goh: So... why are you hiding behind the hedge?
Chloe: Some people are chasing Eevee.
Goh: Huh?
Chloe: (gasps, ducks down and speaks softly) Those people over there!
[Goh turns round]
Goh: Hm?
[He discovers that the two assistants from the Eevee Evolution Lab have arrived to track down Eevee]
Female Assistant: Where are you? Eevee!
Male Assistant: Eevee! You come out now!
Goh: (not surprised) Yeah, you're right. Pretty suspicious.
Chloe: (Softly) Sure is.
Yamper: (growls)
Eevee: (questioning) Eevee?
Chloe: (softly) You'll be just fine. I'm here to protect you, so don't worry.
Eevee: (questioning) Eevee?
[Goh turns to the two assistants from the Eevee Evolution Lab]
Female Assistant: Eevee!
Male Assistant: Where are you?
Yamper: (growls)
Goh: Don't worry. I'll take care of this somehow. Take Yamper and Eevee and make a break for it! (Runs to the assistants)
Chloe: Goh?
[The camera cuts to the two assistants as Goh approaches them]
Goh: Something I can help with?
Both Assistants: (gasp)
Goh: Are you someone's parents?
Female Assistant: Oh... Someone's parents?!
Male Assistant: Well, not quite...
[The assistants chuckle sheepishly]
Goh: Why don't I call a teacher for you?
Female Assistant: (nervously) No, don't do that!
Male Assistant: (nervously) We're good!
Goh: You do know you're trespassing on school grounds.
Both Assistants: (groaned shocked with worry)
Male Assistant: (noticing Chloe behind the bush with Eevee) Huh?
Chloe: Yamper, let's go! (Runs off with Eevee while Yamper follows)
Male Assistant: (points) Eevee!
Female Assistant: (gasps)
[They spot Eevee in Chloe's arms]
Male Assistant: There you are!
Chloe: (gasps)
[The two assistants start chasing after Chloe but then, Goh tackles them down]
Goh: (to Chloe) Run!
Chloe: Thanks, Goh! (Runs ahead)

Goh: [quietly] Okay, Pokéball go. [taps Grookey with the Pokéball to catch it only to fail]
Goh's Rotom Phone: It does not belong to you! Don't be a thief!
Goh: A thief?!
Ash: So that means someone else had caught that Grookey before you did.
Goh: [disappointed] Yeah, you're right. Bummer...

Grookey: Groo-Groo-Groo-Grookey! [I really want you to catch me, Goh!]
Meowth: Come on! You really want the brainy twerp to catch you?
Goh: Would you like that, Grookey?
Grookey: Grookey! [Yes!]
Jessie: This is no time for a translation!
Meowth: No, stop! I was pulling your leg!
Goh: [whips out his Pokéball] Grookey, let's go!
Jessie: I call first dibs on you! [throws Rocket ball at Grookey]
Goh: Pokéball, go!
[As both Pokéballs fly to Grookey, it swats the Rocket ball back to Jessie hitting her in the face, before catching itself into Goh's]
Grookey: Grookey! [Allow me!] [catches itself sucessfully]
[Note: Many fans often claim that "Ash should have gotten Grookey because it is tradition that Ash catches at least one starter per series and that Grookey has the same personality as him." However, had Grookey been caught by Ash, it can be universally hated by fans for being a Rowlet ripoff (comic relief and using a special gimmick), a Bulbasaur ripoff (similar to Torterra and Snivy), a Bayleef ripoff if it only remained in its midstage or a Sceptile ripoff if it is intended to be the main ace. Also, because Ash is an official region Champion, had the writers continued giving Ash more starters, it will be seen as a permanent downgrade in Ash's skills. This is why the writers gave Goh all three Galar starters similar to Ash owning all three starters from Kanto, Johto and Unova.]

Beyond Chivalry… Aiming to be a Leek Master!

[edit]
[Ash gets a notification at the Pokémon Center and runs into Rinto, who also gets a notification.]
Rinto: It's you.
[Both Ash and Pikachu stammer. Cut to flashback where Ash's Farfetch'd lost to Rinto's Gallade.]
Ash: You gotta hang in there, Farfetch'd.
Farfetch'd: Farfetch'd...[I'm trying...]
[The flashback ends]
Rinto: Well, well. We've battle before, haven't we?
Ash: Uh-huh. Nice to see you, Rinto.

Goh: Oh? You entered the World Coronation Series, right?
Ash: But I didn't get a message we could battle then.
Rinto: That's because I had just entered and was in the Normal Class.
Ash: Awesome. Now you're in the Great Class. [Remember, to prevent cheating, trainers participating in the World Coronation Series can only challenge other trainers in the same Class]
Rinto: Yes, you too, it seems. How has Farfetch'd been since then.
Ash: Really good. A little while back, we went to the Kalos region and we trained with Wikstrom.
Pikachu: Pika! [That's correct]
Rinto: Wow. You went to the Castle of Chivalry?

Ash: Hey. Let's battle. Farfetch'd and I have sharpened our skills, so we won't be easy to beat.
Farfetch'd Fetch'd Farfetch'd. [Are you up for the challenge?]
Rinto: Sounds like a great idea. I could see such great potential in both of you.

Rinto: So you used Detect. But since this is a battle of strength, all I need is to strike that leek once and Farfetch'd goes down with it. You're not trained at all.
Goh: If you say they're not trained, then tell us what it is that you think they're lacking?
Rinto: Hey, I'm no Gym Leader. If you want answers, find them yourself. It's our turn. Now Gallade, use Close Combat.
Ash: Use Night Slash! Meet it head on!

[With Ash's win against Rinto in an official battle, Ash is now at ranked 184. Rinto is carrying his injured Gallade on his back]
Rinto: Now I can see what's changed since our last battle. We gave it everything we could give but we couldn't win. Perhaps we need to train a bit more. Thanks for the battle.

[Note: This episode is to apologize to fans for not letting Ash battle in the Opelucid Gym and for failing to evolve Iris' Axew in the Black and White series]
[As the episode begins, Ash receives a letter from someone...]
Ash: A letter for me?
Goh: [nods his head] It says it's from Unova.
Ash: From Unova? [Sirfetch'd cuts open the letter for Ash with his leek]
Ash: Awesome! Thanks Sirfetch'd! [as he opens the letter] Wow, it's from Iris, buddy!
Pikachu: Pika? [Really?]
Goh: Who's that?
Ash: She's a travel buddy from when I traveled in Unova. [flashback reveals Ash, Iris and Cilan alongside Pikachu, Axew and Pansage] She's on a journey to become a Dragon Master. It says she wants an official battle with me.
Pikachu: Pikachu. [That's great.]
Ash: She recently entered the World Coronation series and is already in the Great Class.

[At the Opelucid Gym...]
Ash: We haven't seen the Opelucid Gym in forever!
[an Axew walks by]
Ash: An Axew? Maybe it's Iris' Axew!
Pikachu: Pikachu. [She's got to be nearby.]
Drayden: Oh? Welcome, young Ash. [he picks up the Axew]
Ash: Drayden! Is that Iris' Axew?
Drayden: No, this little one happens to be my partner. [Really? The writers do realize that Drayden has a Haxorus in the Black and White anime, right?]

[As the lights in the Opelucid Gym turn on, courtesy of Emolga, Iris appears in her Champion outfit from the Black 2 and White 2 games]
Iris: I've been waiting for you, Ash!
Ash: Hey, Iris! What's with the getup?
Iris: [giggles and spins around in a circle] Pretty nice, huh?
Drayden: Iris is presently the strongest trainer in Unova. In other words, she holds the title of reigning Champion. [Since Iris is confirmed to be Champion by defeating Alder, it appears to also confirm that Trip failed his goal of defeating Alder. It's also confirmed that Virgil, the winner of the Unova League Conference, did not succeed in becoming Unova Champion as well.]

Drayden: Following her journeys with Ash, Iris fought Dragon type trainers and Gym Leaders and met many Dragon types, learning all the time. By trusting in her Pokémon, she climbed to the position of Champion.

Ash: Great job, Dracovish! Use Ice Fang!
(Dracovish starts using Ice Fang, which freezes Dragonite-A brutal 4x-super-effective smackdown!)
Iris: It can't be true!
Ash: Now, Dracovish, spit it out!
(With a little effort, Dracovish throws Dragonite out of its mouth, with it landing near Iris as the Drone Rotom inspects it.)
Drone Rotom: Dragonite is unable to battle.

[Iris recalls her Dragonite]
Iris: Oh, we lost our rhythm completely, didn't we? We must get our hearts in sync and become one with each other! Yeah, no more kid gloves! [she summons her...Haxorus?!]
Haxorus: Haxorus! [Get ready to rumble!]
Iris: It's Haxorus!

Ash: Iris, is that Haxorus the fully evolved form of Axew I met?
Iris: That's right! And now it's my strongest partner! [Note: The reason Iris' Axew had to become Haxorus is because fans did not approve of the writer's decision of having Axew being kept in his base state throughout the Black and White series and making Axew get lost in the Unova League]

Advice to Goh!

[edit]
[A wild Onix that Goh is trying to catch is about to attack both Ash and Goh, when...]
Gary Oak: Blastoise, Hydro Pump!
[Blastoise complies scaring away the Onix with Hydro Pump]
Goh: Somebody saved us.
Ash: Wait, that Blastoise...
Gary Oak: [stepping out from behind his Kanto starter] I was wondering who it was and it turns out to be Ashy-boy. [Note: HURRAY! NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN, GARY OAK! The fans sure missed you since you last appeared in Diamond and Pearl]
Ash: Gary!
Gary Oak: [gives Ash a friendly chuckle] I just said that for old time's sake. It's been a long time, Ash. Pikachu.
Ash: Uh-huh. It sure has.
Pikachu: Pikachu! [Long time, no see, Gary.]
Ash: But what are you doing here? You were doing Pokémon research in the Sinnoh region, right?
Gary Oak: [recalls his Blastoise] Those days are over. Now I'm on a long journey researching Pokémon all over the world. And in the middle of it, I came up with the goal that's brought me to Kanto.
Ash: Wait, but what goal? [Gary walks over to Goh]
Gary Oak: But first, aren't you going to introduce us?
Ash: Oh, sorry. He's a research fellow at the Cerise Laboratory like me.

[Grookey is running through an underground tunnel by itself, when it finally sees the exit]
Grookey: Grookey. Grookey key key! Grookey key key! Key key! Key key! Grookey roo! (Ends up in a net that is being held by Wobbuffet) Grookey.
Wobbuffet: Wobbuffet! (Sees Grookey in the net) Wobbu? (Shakes the net)
Grookey: Grookey key key key key key key key key! (Falls out of the net) Grookey!
Wobbuffet: (Turns to the entrance to the tunnels) Wobbu.
[Meanwhile, Grookey has landed on the ground and is now staring at Wobbuffet's net]
Grookey: Grookey? (Turns happy) Key, Key, Key! (The camera cuts to Wobbuffet) Grookey!
[Grookey takes the net]
Wobbuffet: Wha? Wobbu? (Sees Grookey running around with the net) Wobbuffeeeeeeeeetttttt! Wha?!
[Grookey runs past the two sets of stairs with the net]
Grookey: Grookey key key key key!
[Wobbuffet starts chasing it]
Wobbuffet: Wobbu wobbu wobbu wobbu!

[Ash and Volkner are walking towards the battle area, but first some catching up to do]
Volkner: I'm glad that I get the chance to battle with you again. [a flashback of Ash's match with Volkner in a Gym battle is shown]
Ash: So am I, Volkner!
Volkner: [notices Ash's Z-ring] Isn't that a Z-ring from the Alola region? And isn't that an Electrium-Z inside?
Ash: Oh this? It's a Z-Crystal made just for Pikachu and me.
Volkner: Just for Pikachu and you?
Pikachu: Pika! [You got it!]

Volkner: I think your stormy winds might even shake things up in the covenant Master Class.
Ash: The Master Class?
Volkner: Yes. Cynthia, Sinnoh's Champion, is listed among their members.
Ash: Cynthia, really? [Sure enough, Cynthia, Leon, and Raihan were revealed to be watching Ash's match against Volkner while Bea is meditating, thinking she's better than everyone. Ash will prove her wrong soon enough.......]

Ash: It's you! Hi, Cynthia!
Cynthia: Ash? It's been a long time! I've never thought I meet you here. You both look like you're doing really great!
Pikachu: Pika Pika! [Thanks for checking up on us!]
Cynthia: I heard that you entered the Pokémon World Coronation Series, that's so fantastic!

An Adventure of Mega Proportions!

[edit]
[Note: This episode is to apologize to fans for not letting Ash get a Mega-evolved Pokémon in favor of Ash-Greninja and Generation VI Pokémon in the XY series. The tradition of giving Ash current generation only Pokémon to promote the current generation games has completely worn out its welcome.]
Korrina: Here you go. [gives Ash a pair of gloves. One of them has a Keystone embedded in it.]
Ash: It's a Mega glove!
Pikachu: Pika. [Cool.]
Goh: Wow, is that really a Keystone?
Ash: Thank you, Korrina. [Both Korrina and Gurkin nod to Ash in gratitude]
Korrina: Try it on for size.

Battle Three With Bea!

[edit]
(After the episode title card, Korrina charges toward Bea! Uh-oh...)
Ash: Korrina!
Korrina: Bea! (The scene turns out to be different when Korrina closes in to...hug Bea?! Uh...) Bea-Bea!
(Ash, Goh and Pikachu look on in surprise and confusion.)
Ash: "Bea-Bea"?

Bea: Thanks for getting me something. But, didn't you come here for him? (Points behind Korrina to Ash and Goh)
Korrina: Huh? (She looks around and notices Ash and Goh) Oh, hey, you two!
(The boys bashfully wave back with blank faces.)

A Battle of Mega Versus Max!

[edit]
Ash: Alright, let's do this, Lucario! [readies his Keystone glove]
Lucario: Raahh! [Now!]

Ash: Our bond of friendship! Mega Evolve! [Fans are satisfied with Ash owning a Mega-evolved Pokémon. Now you know why the tradition of giving Ash current generation Pokémon to promote current generation games began to fall apart back in Generation VI.]
